Merrill Gardens parent company announces two new leaders
R.D. Merrill Company, the parent company of Merrill Gardens Merrill, announced Doug Spear has been promoted to chief investment officer and Patricia Handjaja has been appointed to chief financial officer.
In his new role, Spear “leads the company’s growth initiatives, strategic partnerships, investor relations, debt and equity capital activities and long-term development strategy,” a press release states. He has been with R.D. Merrill Company for 27 years.
In her role, Handjaja “now oversees financial, accounting, treasury, and risk management functions while partnering with Spear and the leadership team on capital strategies that support the company’s long-term growth objectives,” according to the release. She brings more than 20 years of experience to the position.
A Place for Mom names CTO
A Place for Mom has named Jason Conley as its chief technology officer.
In this role, Conly will “partner closely with the chief product officer and leaders across the company to translate A Place for Mom’s vision into thoughtful application of AI to better support families and caregivers,” according to a press release.
Conley brings more than 25 years of experience to the position, most recently serving as the chief technology officer at VIP Medical Group. Before that, he served as chief technology officer and vice president of product, engineering and technology at Envera Health.
Architecture firm Cline creates new leadership role
Cline, an architecture, planning, landscape architecture, interior design and branding firm, announced David Coster has been appointed to its newly created senior housing senior director role.
In this role, Coster will “lead efforts to expand the firm’s senior living capabilities and market presence across the U.S. [and] shape and execute Cline’s senior living growth strategy” a press release states.
Coster brings over 30 years of experience to the role. Prior to joining Cline, he spent 12 years with Retirement Living Associates, most recently serving as vice president of development.
Advisory firm RKL LLP welcomes senior living practice leader
RKL LLP has welcomed Ashley Lacis as the practice leader of its senior living services consulting group.
In this role, Lacis “leads the firm’s new senior living financial planning and analysis (FP&A) practice, which helps senior living and post-acute care providers gain greater clarity into their financial and operating performance and make informed, forward-looking decisions,” a press release states.
Lacis brings more than 20 years of senior living experience to the role.
Juniper promotes national director of marketing
Juniper Communities has promoted Katie Kensinger to national director of marketing.
In her new role, Kensinger will “lead Juniper Communities’ strategic marketing, branding, communications and digital engagement initiatives nationwide, building on nearly a decade of experience with the organization and its communities,” according to a press release.
Kensinger has been with Juniper Communities since 2016.
Americare welcomes regional director of operations
Americare Senior Living announced Scott Kaligian will transition to the company’s regional director of operations for the skilled nursing region in Missouri.
Kaligian brings 22 years of healthcare leadership experience, a pressrelease states, beginning his long-term care career in skilled nursing, where he spent 14 years as a licensed nursing home administrator.
He has spent the last five year’s as Americare’s regional director of operations within the company’s assisted living division.
