Aspenwood names new senior leadership team
Houston, Texas-based luxury senior living provider The Aspenwood Company recently appointed two industry veterans to its senior leadership team, naming Eric Varin as senior vice president of sales and Anna Callender as vice president of operations.
Varin brings over 12 years of sales experience in senior living and most recently served as vice president of partnerships at Sherpa, while also contributing to organizations such as OneDay, Allegro Senior Living and Benchmark Senior Living. He will work with Aspenwood sales teams to increase sales conversions, professional referrals and occupancy.
Callender previously served as director of field operations for Resort Lifestyle Communities and regional vice president of operations with Sunshine Retirement Living with her sales background to help bring a new perspective to the operational capacity of the communities she oversees.
The hires align with the company’s “thoughtful expansion,” CEO Jim Gray said in a news release.
“The continuation of the company’s success will be directly influenced by their compassionate leadership and expertise,” Gray said.
Monarch Communities appoints director for New York community
Monarch Coopers Corner, a Monarch Communities-managed property under development, recently welcomed Paul Ataide as executive director for the community in New Rochelle, New York.
Ataide will be responsible for daily operations of the community that is set to open in early 2023, according to a news release regarding Ataide’s appointment.
He brings previous executive director experience to the role with Monarch Communities, and he has also served as an associate executive director with over 15 years of health care experience.
Monarch Coopers Corner is the first senior living community in Westchester County to seek WELL certification from the International WELL Building Institute based on the health effects of physical spaces on people.
Anthem Memory Care taps community relations director
Harvester Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in Burr Ridge, Illinois, recently named Janet Donovan as community relations director.
In her role, Donovan will be responsible for community outreach and marketing. She previously was resident sales counselor for Lexington Square of Elmhurst in Elmhurst, Illinois as part of 25 years of sales experience.
Kendal Corporation-affiliated community hires project manager
The Admiral at the Lake, a Kendal affiliate, welcomed Brit Vipham as new project manager. She brings over a decade in communication and business management experience in construction. In the new role, Vipham will oversee the Admiral’s strategic plan through 2025.
She will also be a “key decision-maker” for large capital projects going forward, the company said in a news release.
PS Salon & Spa adds new VP
Senior living vendor PS Salon & Spa recently hired Mavis Batey as vice president of operations for the company, according to a LinkedIn post.
Founded in 2008, the company transforms senior living beauty shops into professional-grade salons and spas having established centers at over 1,200 locations nationwide, according the company’s website.
Grace Management national memory care director advances education
Dr. Ashlea Smalley, Grace Management’s national director of memory care and life enrichment, recently completed her doctor of education degree in leadership in gerontology, the company said in a news release.
Smalley provides support and training for life enrichment and memory care to all Grace Management senior living communities.
