Verve Senior Living plans $20M renovation after acquisition
Verve Senior Living has acquired The Ravines, a full continuum senior living community in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, according to a news release.
The community will now be known as the Verve The Ravines and the community will receive a $20 million renovation over the next two years to improve the property. Renovations will include renovated suites, refreshed care segments, along with dining and lobby updates, the release states.
“We are very excited about The Ravines and what it represents for Verve,” said Scott Quinney, President of Verve Senior Living. “We see an outstanding community with great people, a strong reputation, and tremendous potential. Our commitment is to invest in the building, invest in the resident experience, invest in our team members, and in the future of senior living in the greater Ottawa and Nepean areas.”
Verve Senior Living is operated by Diversicare Canada Management Services.
New affordable community planned in Texas
Walker and Dunlop recently closed on $30 million in low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) funding for a new affordable senior housing development in Mesquite, Texas, according to a news release.
The community, known as Avanti Hills, will be part of a $78.45 million development by KCG Companies.
Avanti Hills will include 260 affordable apartment homes, including 135-one bedroom and 125 two-bedroom units, with all units restricted to households earning up to 60% of the area’s median income.
The Avanti Hills community is developed by KCG Development through a joint venture with The Javelin Group and Mesquite Housing Finance Corporation.
The community will include a clubhouse, fitness center, outdoor gathering space with accessible features and resident-focused wellness and community programming.

David Weekley Homes plans opening of 55+ community
David Weekley Homes recently announced plans for opening of a new, 55+ community in McDonough, Georgia, according to a news release.
Wade Farm will mark David Weekley Homes’ first development in the area and the community includes one-story ranch-style homes for those 55 and older.
Amenities include a resort-style pool and clubhouse along with pickleball and bocce athletic courts. Other amenities include dog parks, walking trails, a pavilion, garden, pocket part with a fire pit, sidewalks and activities coordinated by a lifestyle director.
