Stark Enterprises, Stark Living start construction on North Carolina community

Stark Enterprises, along with Stark Living and Arbor Construction, recently started construction on Oak Harbor Village for a new community located in Bolivia, North Carolina.

The site spans 23-acres and offers 130 ranch-style townhome rental units with one to three-bedroom layouts with an average size of 1,232 square-feet.

Shared amenities include a clubhouse, dog park, fitness center, playground, lap pool, sundeck, pergolas, grilling stations and entertainment areas.

Sunrise Senior Living opens California community

Sunrise Senior Living recently celebrated the grand opening of its new community Sunrise of Oceanside in Oceanside, California.

The community spans 76,172 square-feet across two stories and 130 units offering assisted living and memory care services. The community was designed by HPI Architecture and construction was completed by W.E. O’Neil Construction.

Units range between studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units with modern amenities including fitness classes, concerts, lectures and excursions. Multiple dining venues are on site along with a salon, activity rooms, outdoor areas and more.

MorningStar Senior Living opens Colorado community

MorningStar Senior Living and Edgemark Development recently celebrated the opening of MorningStar at Holly Park in Centennial, Colorado.

The 160-unit community offers independent living, assisted living and memory care services in a four-story luxury residential building across a three-acre site. Shared amenities include an indoor pool, fitness center, therapy center, choice of dining venues, private courtyards, rooftop club and terrace.

Units are broken up into 85 suites for IL, 50 for AL and 25 memory care suites developed under “Whole Health Standards.”

MorningStar and Edgemark co-developed the community and marks the first partnership between the firms. Rosemann and Associates served as architect, JHL Constructors served as general contractor and Thoma-Holec Design provided interior design services.

Sunrise operates more than 240 communities.

Aspenwood opens latest community

The Aspenwood Company recently announced the opening of its 12-story senior living luxury community, The Village on Morehead.

The community is now welcoming residents across its 192-units with resort-style amenities and services, well-lit public spaces, large residences along with close proximity to Charlotte’s downtown offerings.

The Village on Morehead has 19 different floor plans that range from one to three-bedroom layouts with a den to penthouses with more than 2,000 square-feet of living space. Some of the details in units include high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, designer kitchens, walk-in closets and luxury finishes. Each residence includes a large balcony.

The building’s centerpiece is a large outdoor terrace with a private park with access to food and beverage services to residents, along with shared amenities including a bocce court, outdoor kitchen and living room.

Emerald Heights welcomes first residents

Emerald Heights, a life plan community in Redmond, Washington, recently opened its doors to its first residents following a $63 million apartment project at the community.

The new apartments span three floors and six apartment unit designs with community rooms, outdoor meeting space, grand entry plaza and underground parking access.

The Courtyard building was first conceptualized in 2017 and construction started in September 2022. 

The project was designed by Rice Fergus Miller and built by GLY Construction.

Along with the opening of the Courtyard, Emerald Heights is also under construction with a $55 million assisted living project known as FirView, a 67,555 square-foot expansion that will add 54 one-bedroom apartments to the assisted living stock on the life plan community campus. The addition will also include new dining space, activity rooms, outdoor patio and underground parking with a bridge connection to the main building. FirView is expected to be completed in early 2025.
