Distinctive Living plans Connecticut community

Senior living operator Distinctive Living and its development platform Distinctive Development recently announced redevelopment plans of a senior living community in Litchfield County, Connecticut.

The project will convert an abandoned skilled nursing facility into a new, boutique 57-unit AL and memory care community.

Distinctive Living worked closely with Meyer Design, Berkadia and 225 Wyoming Capital on getting the project underway. The new community will feature a cafe, sunroom, movie room, fitness center and more.

Distinctive Living operates 27 communities and has an additional 19 communities under development.

Legend Senior Living to manage Pennsylvania property

Wichita, Kansas-based Legend Senior Living announced it will manage The Vero at Bethlehem Personal Care and Memory Care community in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Construction on the community remains ongoing with an anticipated opening this spring.

Legend Senior Living owns and operates 45 communities in six states, and The Vero will be the fifth residence under Legend’s management in Pennsylvania.

The community offers IL and memory care across studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments that range between 321 square-feet to 826 square-feet with more than a dozen floor plans.

Charter Senior Living-managed community opens in Florida

The Contemporary, a new luxury senior living community in Westchester, Florida near Miami, recently hosted a grand opening ceremony.

The community will be managed by Charter Senior Living and include a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments with floor plans and modern features on a six-acre campus. The site includes shaded walking paths and trails along with gathering spaces, indoor lounges, casual dining options and a fitness center.

Resort Lifestyle Communities opens Las Vegas community

Vista Park, a new IL and active adult 55-plus community in North Las Vegas, Nevada, is now open.

The community includes 128 apartments as part of studio, one, two and three-bedroom options. On-site amenities include live-in managers, a 24/7 emergency call system, appointment transportation, concierge services and valet parking.

Erickson Senior Living upgrades 16 communities

Erickson Senior Living recently announced it had modernized and upgraded physical security systems across 16 of its communities with Genetec Security Center technology.

The new platform allows the company to better protect residents, visitors and communities. This is a departure from past security systems that were specific to each local community without the ability to connect to give corporate teams a holistic view of its security footprint.

The unified platform lets Erickson manage video access control and is equipped with license plate recognition software with a single user interface, the company said in a news release.

A remaining five communities are expected to get the upgrades later this year that will increase a total of 350 cameras, 600 door readers and 1,500 wireless locks installed across the company’s portfolio.
