Texas Senior Living Community Adds Solar Array

Austin, Texas-based Freedom Solar announced a partnership with Westminster senior living community in Austin to install the first solar energy array at a senior living community in Texas, the company announced.

The Westminster installation is set to be accomplished in two phases. Once the project is complete, Westminster will realize up to $50,000 in annual savings, and reduced impacts of rising energy costs.

National Church Residences Breaks Ground on IL Project

National Church Residences has started construction on Brookwood Point, a $33 million, 103 unit independent living apartment community in Columbus, Ohio.

The property is geared toward middle market seniors with a mixture of one-and-two bedroom floor plans for people 55 and older. Construction is being handled by Alford and design by Berardi Partners. The project is expected to be complete in Fall 2023.

Milwaukee Life Plan Community Starts New Expansion Project

Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based life plan community Eastcastle Place launched a major expansion and renovation project that is slated to be complete in summer 2023.

The project is adding 30 new apartments in addition to adding, enhancing and updating common areas within the community, including the dining room, bar and lounge, theater, creativity center, fitness and aquatic center and outdoor spaces.

Project partners include LCS Development, CG Schmidt, AG Architecture and RDG Interior Designs.

Watercrest Opens South Carolina Community

Watercrest Senior Living Group celebrated the grand opening of Watercrest Myrtle Beach Assisted Living and Memory Care, a 98-unit senior living community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The community’s design includes a promenade, fireplace, multiple dining venues, “Southern-style” outdoor living spaces, art studio and gallery, a cigar and scotch lounge and a spa with a resort-style pool, light and salt therapy, and a fitness and physical therapy center.

The community is the second of two senior living development projects among Watercrest, Corecam Capital Partners and Peninsula Alternative Real Estate.

California Life Plan Community Opens New Neighborhood

Paradise Valley Estates, a life plan community in Fairfield, California, has unveiled a newly completed expansion project.

The expansion spans eight acres and includes 70 cottages, villas and penthouses, adding to the community’s 321-unit count.
