National Church Residences Plans Affordable Community Near Atlanta
National Church Residences has earned a Low-Income Housing Tax Credit award from the Georgia Division of Community Affairs, paving the way for a new affordable senior housing community near Atlanta.
The community is Sweetwater Point, a new 96-unit project in Douglasville, Georgia. The three-story building is planned to include amenities such as a fitness center and an arts and crafts center.
Foley Design designed the community, and National Church Residences is developing, managing and owning it.

Benchmark Announces New Community in Massachusetts
Benchmark Senior Living is now taking reservations for Benchmark at Hanover, an assisted living and memory care community in Hanover, Massachusetts.
The 97-apartment community includes amenities such as restaurant-style dining and resident-tended “micro-farms,” an art studio and gallery, outdoor patio with fireplace and a bocce ball court. When completed, the community will seek WELL certification.
Udelsman Associates handled the community’s design, while the project’s general contractor is Callahan Construction. StudioSix5 is the project’s interior designer. The new community represents Benchmark’s 64th community in the Noreast.
Lloyd Jones Breaks Ground on Aviva Community in Florida
Lloyd Jones has broken ground on Aviva Port St. Lucie, an active adult community in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
The 159-unit community is slated to have a zero-entry pool, clubhouse, fitness center, full-service dining room, bistro, bar and private party space, card room, putting green, pickleball court, aerobics and yoga studio, walking and biking trails and dog park.
The community is currently on track to open in spring, 2023.

Atria Coterie Community in San Francisco Welcomes First Residents
Atria’s Coterie Cathedral Hill community in San Francisco has officially opened.
The 209-unit community in San Francisco has more than 40,000 square feet of luxury indoor-outdoor amenities, with rates starting at $7,700 per month for a studio apartment.
Atria CEO John Moore publicized the opening Thursday on Linkedin. Related Companies and real estate investment trust Welltower (NYSE: WELL) were partners on the community.
United Properties Opens Active Adult Community in Minnesota
United Properties has opened Amira Bloomington, an active adult community in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The 133-unit community has amenities such as a sky lounge and terrace, heated underground parking, an outdoor pool with sundeck and cabanas, art and fitness studios, pickleball courts, a hobby shop and an outdoor kitchen.
Kaas Wilson Architects designed the project, while Weis Builders worked as architect and Banko Design handled interior design. Great Lakes Management is operating the community.
Silverado Completes Las Vegas Community, Plans Another in Maryland
Silverado has opened a new memory care community in Las Vegas. The company also is planning another similar project in Maryland.
In Las Vegas, the company is due to welcome residents soon at Red Rock Memory Care Community, which lies just north of the Vegas strip. And in Frederick, Maryland, Silverado is slated to open its new community in mid-2022.
Both communities share the same floor plan, and each will have room for 72 residents.
