Liberty Plans Assisted Living, Memory Care Community in New Orleans

Liberty Senior Living and Felicity Property Co. have announced new plans to develop a senior living community in New Orleans.

As planned, the project will renovate and expand a former courthouse and turn it into a 93-unit community. The building was designed by 19th century architect Henry Howard and originally opened in 1855.

Kisco, Welltower Break Ground on Maryland Community

Kisco Senior Living is entering Maryland and the Washington, D.C. market with Welltower (NYSE: WELL) as its joint-venture partner.

The two companies broke ground on The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center, a 302-unit community with one- and two-bedroom floor plans for independent living, assisted living and memory care residences. Amenities include multiple indoor and outdoor dining venues, an indoor salt-water heated pool, fitness center, wellness spa, yoga studio, onsite health care, a lecture hall, an art gallery, demonstration kitchen and an outdoor landscaped park.

THW Design is working as the project’s architect, StudioSIX5 is handling interior design and Balfour Beatty is the project’s general contractor. The community is expected to start moving in residents in the spring of 2024.

Capitol Seniors Housing Breaks Ground on New Jersey Community

Capitol Seniors Housing has started work on an assisted living and memory care community in Washington Township, New Jersey.

The community, The Chelsea at Washington Township, is slated to have 85 residential units and amenities such as a bistro, sports bar, theater, multi-purpose room, club room, private dining, and specially designed courtyards for assisted living and memory care residents.

Meyer Design designed the community and KBE Building Corporation worked as general contractor. If all goes according to plan, the project partners anticipate an opening in early 2023.

North Carolina Community Breaks Ground on Expansion

Searstone, a non-profit community in Cary, North Carolina, has broken ground on a new independent living expansion.

The expansion, called The Highview, is adding to the community 152 units and more amenities, including an auditorium and arts center, an expanded health care center, three new dining venues, a game room, outdoor community spaces and landscaping and walking paths.

The community is currently expected to open in 2024.

Benchmark Renovating Community in Massachusetts

Benchmark Senior Living is putting the finishing touches on a renovation at The Falls at Cordingly Dam, an assisted living and memory care community in Newton, Massachusetts.

The $10 million renovation project’s scope includes new open-concept common areas and renovated amenities along with 22 modernized apartments for residents that available for move-ins on Nov. 1.

StudioSIX5 handled the community’s interior design; the project was designed by New Hampshire architects Udelsman Associates and Port One Architects; and Platinum Builders is general contractor.

Atlanta Life Plan Community Lenbrook Completes $108M Expansion

Lenbrook, a life plan community in Atlanta, has put the finishing touches on a $108 million expansion project.

The expansion, Kingsboro at Lenbrook, added 39 apartments and 13 villas. The expansion also added rooftop space, a regulation-size croquet lawn, and indoor and outdoor living rooms.

Project partners included interior designer THW Design, developer Greenbrier Development and Brasfield & Gorrie, which managed construction.
