Morning Pointe Senior Living to start on new Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence

Morning Pointe Senior Living recently announced plans for construction to start on The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence at East Hamilton.

The Lantern will be the second phase of the senior living campus near the current Morning Pointe of East Hamilton Assisted Living and Memory Care community. The Lantern is expected to open in early 2025, according to a news release issued by Morning Pointe.

The Lantern is the Morning Pointe’s 41st community and the 25th in Tennessee. The single-level memory care community will be approximately 45,000 square feet and be home to 60 apartment units, while also creating 60 new, permanent health care positions and is estimated to have a $25 million economic impact on an annual basis.

Affordable senior living community approved in Virginia

The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors recently approved $9.7 million for the construction of a new affordable senior living community in Falls Church, Virginia through developer Wesley Housing.

The funding comes from a loan from the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority. The future site will be known as Kindred Crossing and will result in 95 affordable IL homes for those 62 and older. The community will be available to those less than or equal to 30% and 60% of the area’s median income.

The development will also include 4,600 square-feet of commercial retail space with a clinic to relocate to the space, a news release on the project states

Ryan Companies, LCS Development finish Friendship Village Tempe renovation

Ryan Companies US recently announced the completion of the second phase of a multi-phase master plan to renovate the 50-acre campus of Friendship Village Tempe.

The four-story, 142,000 square-foot community is 89% occupied, with the project being developed by LCS Development and built by Ryan to be managed by LCS going forward. Initial work started as part of the multi-phase plan in 2019 to renovate the campus.

Residents started moving into the new apartments in late 2023. The second phase included the addition of 64 IL apartments, four guest suites and 69 underground parking spaces with one- and two-bedroom layouts ranging between 743 square-feet and 1,789 square-feet.

New amenities include a full-service rooftop restaurant and microbrewery. Phase three construction is expected to begin mid-2025.

Friendship Village Tempe

The Virginian completes major renovation

The Virginian senior living community in Fairfax, Virginia recently completed a $67 million renovation project that added units and amenities to the campus.

The community was redesigned offering high-end amenities and programming along with multiple dining venues, wine cellar, sports bar, golf simulator, theater, entertainment venues, multiple salons and more. A spa is currently under development in the community.

The renovation also added a fifth floor “concierge level” with its own private dining room and bar along with unit layouts ranging between one- and three-bedroom apartments. Units include California closet design, smart thermostats and smart lighting and electronic blinds. Valet parking is also available on the new concierge level.

Affinity community in Atlanta caters to Korean American older adults

The first senior living community geared towards Korean American older adults is now complete in the Atlanta area, with the first residents moving into Eben Silver Town.

The community, managed by Solinity, includes over 100 suite-style residences as part of a four-story residential building in a private, gated community. 

Shared amenities include karaoke, fitness center, library, chapel, salon, outdoor Korean deck, Korean-speaking physical therapist, formal and casual dining rooms, Koi pond and a children’s play room.

Clearwater Living opens Newport Beach community

Clearwater Living recently announced the opening of Clearwater Newport, a new AL and memory support community in Newport Beach, California.

The 101-unit luxury community is split between 70 AL and 31 memory support apartments in a range of studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts with a large outdoor courtyard. Other amenities include a creative studio, club room, fitness and wellness center, theater, housekeeping, laundry, transportation and concierge services with an on-site licensed nurse with a comprehensive care suite of health care offerings.
