LCS names executive vice president, chief financial officer

LCS has promoted Dan Lahey to executive vice president and chief financial and investment officer effective Jan. 1.

In his new role, Lahey will direct all financial and real estate operations for the organization and provide leadership for all financial aspects of the company.

He joined LCS in 2008 as an accounting and tax manager on the finance team, and later joined LCS Real Estate when it was launched.

The Hill at Whitemarsh board appoints president, CEO

The board of trustees of the Hill at Whitemarsh, a nonprofit continuing care retirement community, announced the appointment of Corey Evans as president and CEO.

Previously, Evans served as director of healthcare at the Hill at Whitemarsh, where he oversaw the community’s comprehensive care facilities.

While in his positions, Evans will also maintain his role as president of Hill Home Services, a subsidiary he created. 

Ziegler welcomes SVP, head of senior living research

Ziegler’s Senior Living Finance Practice has welcomed Mimi Rossi as its senior vice president and head of senior living research.

Rossi comes into the position with a background in hospital clinical experience and hospital and senior living risk management experience.

Most recently, she served as vice president of risk management for Caring Communities. Before that, she served as the chief nursing officer at Thorek Memorial Hospital in Chicago.

Siena Lakes names associate executive director

Erickson Senior Living community Siena Lakes has named Varun Kakar as its associate executive director.

Kakar has been with Erickson Senior Living since 2009, where he joined as a student server. Since then, he has advanced and served in dining leadership positions at multiple communities, including Highland Springs, Fox Run and Maris Grove.

Most recently, he served as director of dining at Siena Lakes and was named the community’s “Leader of the Year” in 2023.

Business development director named at The Residence of Bedford

LCB Senior Living’s newest community, The Residence of Bedford in Bedford, Massachusetts, has named Jane Kiegel as its business development director.

In her role, Kiegel will be responsible for creating mutually beneficial relationships throughout the greater community, including the general public, civic and charitable organizations and healthcare providers

Kiegel brings 23 years of experience to the position, with her most recent being the general manager of WayForth in Boston.

Integral Senior Living names VP of operational services

Integral Senior Living has named Zachary Butcher as its vice president of operational services.

Butcher brings 12 years of experience to the position and has held various positions within the senior living industry during that time, including vice president of Operations for Brookdale Senior Living and chief operating officer for Novellus Living.

“Bringing Zach onboard for this position was an easy choice. He brings a wealth of experience, not just in the senior living industry, but also in what it takes to be a successful vice president of operations,” Collette Gray, president and CEO of Integral Senior Living and Solstice Senior Living said in a press release.

Springpoint board of trustees welcomes new member

Nonprofit senior living provider Springpoint announced on Jan. 16 that its board of trustees has welcomed its newest member, Lisa McCracken.

McCraken will begin serving her first of two four-year terms in January.

McCracken brings a wide range of knowledge and expertise to the board through her service as head of research and analytics at the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care.

Sparrow Partners announces president of property management

Sparrow Partners has named Brett Robinson as its president of property management.

Robinson is noted to have “an extensive background” in senior living, including independent living, assisted living, memory care and active adult. In his new role, he will directly oversee sales, marketing and operations.

Prior to joining Sparrow Partners, he served as managing director of sales for active adult at Greystar.

Goodwin Living elects new board members, directors

Goodwin Living, a faith-based not-for-profit senior living organization, has elected new board members to its board of trustees and board of directors.

Yasamin Al-Askari has been elected to the board of trustees, with a term that started Jan. 1. She previously served as senior vice president at Truist.

The Goodwin Living Foundation also elected four new members to its board of directors; Frederick Pang, Tricia Rodgers, Steven Smith and Alton Wallace.

Springpoint names new executive director

Springpoint has named Lee Gillis as the executive director of Springpoint Living at Manalpan.

In her position, Gillis is responsible for overall leadership and will direct day-to-day operations of the community.

Gillis brings over 30 years of experience to the position, and was previously the executive director at Brookdale Florence, Brookdale Hillsborough, The Residence at Voorhees and HarborChase of Princeton.

LCB Senior Living hires new director of learning

LCB Senior Living has announced its hiring of Kelly Shaw as the new director of learning.

In the newly created role, Shaw will create and cultivate LCB’s associate training program, while also encouraging growth opportunities and learning support to all in the company.

Shaw has over 20 years of senior living experience and previously served as senior content developer and instructional designer at Sunrise Senior Living.

Greystone announces managing director for healthcare

Greystone has announced the hiring of David Young as managing director for healthcare.

In his role, Young will focus on originating and structuring senior loans for Greystone’s FHA lending platform as well as other permanent financing options.

Prior to joining Greystone, he served as managing director at Locust Point Capital. Before that, he served as chief financial officer for Radiant Senior Living.

Kendal at Oberlin finds CEO

Kendal at Oberlin, a nonprofit life plan community, has named Seth Vilensky as its new CEO following a nationwide search.

He will officially fill the position on Jan. 29 and will fill the role following Barbara Thomas’s retirement.

Most recently, Vilensky served as strategic market operations and category management for Medically Home. Prior to that, he was the president and CEO of the Montefiore Home.

Plunkett Raysich Architects promotes principal

Plunkett Raysich Architects has announced the promotion of Renee Moe to principal of the firm.

Moe has been with the firm since 1998 and is a healthcare architect.

Most recently, Moe has focused on the strategic improvement of healthcare operations, staff and patient flow and enhanced patient experience using evidence-based design techniques.

Massachusetts Assisted Living Association welcomes two new board members

Massachusetts Assisted Living Association has welcomed two new board members in Tadd Clelland and Charles James.

Clelland is president and CEO of Senior Living Residences and has over 20 years of management experience in the senior living industry.

James is the executive director of Artisan at Hudson with SageLife Senior Living, and brings more than 20 years of experience to the role.

Northwind Group hires senior associate

The Northwind Group has hired Danny Bruss as a senior associate of its senior living and healthcare vertical.

In his new role, Bruss will support all investment, asset management and FHA underwriting activities across the company’s portfolio.

Prior to joining the Northwind Group, Bruss served as an FHA underwriter with KeyBank.
