Kendal Corporation expands zen-Inspired community portfolio 

The Wilmington, Delaware-based operator announced plans for Enso Verde, a new life plan community located in Simi Valley, California. The project will be highly focused on wellness. Read more about the project in this coverage from earlier this week on Senior Housing News.

The newest community comes on the heels of Enso Village, Kendal’s first zen-inspired project with the San Francisco Zen Center.

The project’s currently under development in Healdsburg, California as part of a 221-unit community and is nearly 100% pre-leased, according to Kendal Chief Strategy Officer Steve Bailey.

Sonata and Berkshire Residential Investments mark grand opening of Florida project

Sonata Senior Living and capital partner Berkshire Residential Investments celebrated the grand opening of Sonata Lake Mary in Lake Mary, Florida.

The $62 million, resort-style community offers upscale amenities on a seven-acre site with the nearby 153-acre $750 million Lake Mary Wellness and Technology Park mixed-use development. The community features a range of 193 AL, IL and MC units.

Shared amenities include a pool, bistro, golf simulator, dog park and pickleball court. Touchless technology is also a key part of the community with updated air filtration systems for enhanced safety and a hearing loop system inside the theater.

WPC was the general contractor for the project, marking the company’s fifth for Sonata, including: Serenades at Longwood, Serenades at West Orange, Serenades at The Villages and Sonata Melbourne.
