Discovery Senior Living promotes Senior Vice President of Operations

Discovery Senior Living announced the recent promotion of Gottfried Ernst to senior vice president of operations.

Ernst previously served as vice president of operations since 2021 and was key to the company’s regional operations and support services, a news release states. He helped expense spend-down and labor management looks to support communities dealing with inflation and labor pressures.

Ernst will continue to oversee Discovery’s national operations and expand his duties and focus on new operational management resources to enhance investor relations and support the continued expansions of Discovery’s national and regional brands.

Discovery Senior Living currently owns and operates a national, multi-branded portfolio of more than 110 communities in 19 states.

Enso Village brings on VP of people, culture

Enso Village, a Zen-inspired senior living community by The Kendal Corporation and San Francisco Zen Center, recently welcomed Pamela Coleman as vice president of people and culture.

The position will serve a critical executive leadership role for the community. Coleman brings over 20 years of experience in people and culture building and crosses various industries, having most recently served as VP of people and culture at food and beverage services organization La Terra Fina.

Enso Village is currently under construction in Healdsburg, California and is set to welcome its first residents in the fall.

Apparel brand Joe & Bella welcomes new board members

Adaptive apparel brand for older adults Joe & Bella recently announced an advisory board to support the brand’s growth and further connections to the senior housing industry.

The board now includes:

● Jason Zuccari, Hamilton Insurance; Board Member, Hilarity for Charity

● Tony Ruberg, Senior Managing Director at VIUM Capital

Oaks Senior Living names CEO and president

Bear Mahon will assume the role of CEO and president for Oaks Senior LIving as the company enters its 25th year serving older adults.

Mahon succeeds outgoing CEO and Founder Alex Salabarria and is part of a multi-year succession plan, the company said.

Through a joint venture, Bear will also remain as the COO of both CaraVita Senior Care Management and CaraVita Home Care, and previously served as Oaks Senior Living’s chief operating officer since 2021.

Oaks Senior Living operates 39 senior living properties.

Primrose Retirement Communities promotes EVP of operations

Primrose Retirement Communities recently promoted Amanda Lindner from regional operations manager to executive vice president of operations.

Lindner will oversee the operations department that manages 33 communities across 17 states. Lindner started with Primrose in 2010.

Goodwin Loving names board of trustees vice chair

Goodwin Living announced Ben Marcantonio was elected vice chair of its board of trustees. Marcantonio is the COO and interim CEO of the National Hope and Palliative Care Organization.

Marcantonio brings more than three decades of leadership experience in educational, healthcare and social service settings. He succeeds Thomas West, senior partner with Signature Estate and Investment Advisors, in the position.

He’s served on the board since 2021.
