Calson Management Plans Two California Projects

Calson Management plans to develop 12.7-acres of senior housing communities in Livermore and Soquel, California.

One site is slated to be developed into a 128-unit assisted living and memory care community. The second site is planned to be developed into an 82-unit assisted living and memory care development.

Amenities are planned include dining rooms, a hobby room, spa/salon, movie theater, laundry facilities, a fitness center, wellness center and walking paths with outdoor spaces.

Greystar Now Pre-Leasing Suburban Chicago Community

Greystar is now pre-leasing units at a forthcoming active adult community in Vernon Hills, Illinois.

Plans for the new active adult community, Everleigh Vernon Hills, include three different designs including one-, two- and two-bedroom options, along with cottage homes.

Apartments are furnished and amenities include a swimming pool and hot tub, event lawn, game lawn, outdoor lounge with firepits, pool cabanas and green space for pets. Indoor amenities include a great room, demonstration kitchen, creative arts studio, movie theater, game room, business center and fitness center and group exercise room.

The community is slated to open this fall.

Atlas Senior Living Prepares to Open Florida Community

Atlas Senior Living and joint-venture partner DMK are slated to open a senior living community in Venice, Florida.

The Goldton at Venice

The 167-unit community, The Goldton at Venice, is slated to open in late 2022 with a unit breakdown of 114 independent living, 38 assisted living, and 15 memory care residences.

The Goldton at Venice is slated to offer amenities such as multiple onsite restaurants along with educational and memory care programming.

Affordable Senior Housing Community Opens in Los Angeles

Mercy Housing of California has opened a new affordable senior housing community in West Los Angeles.

The Howard and Irene Levine Senior Community

Project partners behind the Howard and Irene Levine Senior Community recently celebrated its grand opening. The six-story, 48 unit affordable housing development was designed by KFA, and provides housing for unhoused senior veterans and older adults earning at or below 30% and 60% of the local area’s median income. Amenities include laundry rooms on each floor along with community and recreation rooms.

— The Durbin Cos. have proposed replacing some of its student housing units at PennView Suites in Altoona, Pennsylvania for rent-subsidized senior housing.

— Ashtabula Senior Living plans to add a 32-unit senior living community in Ashtabula, Ohio.

— TWG Development is planning to develop a 2.5-acre property in Kirkland, Washington into affordable senior housing.

In progress

— The Lutheran Home for the Aging of Humboldt County started construction on three properties in Fortuna, California consisting of 80 units of rent-subsidized senior living homes.

— The Atlanta Housing Authority is partnering with Columbia Residential for the renovation of the East Lake Highrise senior living building in Atlanta.

Complete

— The 102 unit, eight story Montclare JoAnn Thompson senior living community on Chicago’s South Side opened earlier this week.
