Civitas Projects in Florida Move Closer to Opening Dates

Civitas Senior Living has revealed tentative opening dates for three senior living communities in Florida.

In North Port, the company in December is slated to open The Gallery at North Port, a community with 169 units of independent living, assisted living and memory care and 28 independent living cottages.

In Palm Coast, Civitas is planning a January opening date for The Azure of Palm Coast, an assisted living and memory care community. And in Port Orange, the company has set a March 2022 opening date for The Gallery at Port Orange, an independent living, assisted living, and memory care community.

National Church Residences Completes Renovations at Texas Community

National Church Residences recently gave a facelift to Trinity Place, an affordable senior housing community in Round Rock, Texas.

The community’s studio and one-bedroom apartments received upgrades including updated kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliances; newly updated bathrooms; new windows; new lighting and flooring; and the addition of ceiling fans in all of the unit bedrooms. Workers also updated the community’s kitchen and amenities in addition to adding a new concrete patio.

New Affordable Senior Housing Community Opens in Georgia

Hunt Companies, Boulevard Group, the Albany Housing Authority and Pennrose recently held a grand opening ceremony for Oaks Intown, an affordable multifamily and senior housing community in Albany, Georgia.

The project turned four outdated public housing communities into a community with several multifamily buildings for families and a 66-unit senior housing neighborhood.

The community’s apartments got new HVAC systems, renovated kitchens with a dishwasher and an electric range; modern bathrooms; vinyl flooring; updated fixtures, and in-unit washers and dryers. Amenities include a community room, playground and landscaped outdoor areas.

Funding included that from Hunt Capital Partners, which provided equity through the DCA 4% Low Income Housing Tax Credit program; a Freddie TEL loan through Truist Bank, a DCA Home loan and Albany Housing Authority funding. Bank OZK also provided the project with a construction loan through tax-exempt bonds.

— A development project featuring a 143-unit senior living community is in the works in Collierville, Tennessee.

— A former lumber yard in Spokane, Washington, is slated to be turned into an assisted living and memory care community as part of a $25 million redevelopment project.

— A former senior living community that closed amid the Covid-19 pandemic in Wayzata, Minnesota, is slated to be renovated and turned into a new community.

— Local officials in McDonough, Georgia, have approved rezoning for a $45 million senior living community.

— Lantern Crest Senior Living has opened a community in Santee, California.
