Charter Senior Living Names New Executive Director in Georgia

Charter Senior Living, LLC, a Naperville, Illinois-based senior living operator, has named Veronica Martinez as the new executive director of Cedar Hill Senior Living. Located in Cedartown, Georgia, the community offers assisted living and memory care.

Martinez has been with Cedar Hill since 2008, previously serving as executive assistant and payroll clerk. In 2009, she was promoted to management and has played a role in assisting residents during their time at the community.

Todd Steps Up to VP Role for The Waters Senior Living

Minneapolis, Minnesota-based The Waters Senior Living LLC, an owner, operator and developer of senior living communities in Minnesota, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, has named Katherine Todd as its new vice president of health and wellbeing.

In her new post, Todd will provide clinical leadership and oversight, as well as spearhead the company’s sustainability efforts.

Todd has extensive experience in the industry, having a long-standing history with The University of Minnesota Earl Bakken Center of Spirituality & Healing, a partner of The Waters Senior Living. Prior to joining the company, she has worked with organizations like HealthEast Woodwinds Hospital and Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital. She has also served as the director of nursing and hospital operations for Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.

Maxwell Group, Inc. Appoints VP of Care Services

Robin Viles has been named the new vice president of Charlotte, North Carolina-based the Maxwell Group, Inc.’s care services division, encompassing its home health, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation services.

Viles brings extensive experience to her new role, having spent the last seven years at Netsmart, formerly HealthMEDX, Inc., an electronic health record (EHR) software developer.

Live Oak Bancshares, Inc. Welcomes Senior Care Lending Expert

Live Oak Bancshares, Inc., a Wilmington, North Carolina-based small business lender, has welcomed Adam Sherman as the company’s senior care lending team industry expert.

Sherman brings 15 years of industry experience in health care real estate, previously serving as managing director for the capital solutions practice at Blueprint Healthcare Real Estate Advisors. Throughout his career, he has built a network of industry-specific owner, operator, investor and lender contacts.

In his new post at Live Oak, Sherman will leverage his business contacts to serve a client base of senior care providers and developers.

Executive Director Named at Watercrest St. Lucie West

Watercrest Senior Living, a Vero Beach, Florida-based operator and developer of assisted living and memory care communities, has named Mindy Martin as executive director of its Watercrest St. Lucie West Assisted Living and Memory Care community.

The 128-unit luxury senior living community will open later this year in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

Martin holds a master’s degree in health care management, in addition to bringing 20 years of industry experience in managed care insurance, long-term pharmacy and nursing home administration to her new role.

She will be tasked with leading the community, promoting growth and providing training to team members.

Carter Named to LifeSpire Board of Trustees

LifeSpire of Virginia, a Richmond, Virginia-based operator of CCRCs, has named Dr. Valerie Carter as the newest member of its board of trustees.

Carter currently serves as the director/treasurer of Woman’s Missionary Union of Virginia (WMUV), and has worked in ministry roles with Virginia Baptists since 1988. Her previous experience includes serving as director of Hillside Baptist Center, WMUV associate of Christian social ministries and associate pastor of global and local ministries at Bon Air Baptist Church in Richmond. Carter is also an adjunct instructor of sociology at J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College.
