Revel Launches Membership Program, Shifting Away From Traditional Rental Model

Revel Communities has announced the rollout of a new resident membership model and website, with a focus on “self-service, convenience and price transparency.”

The Scottsdale, Arizona-based company — which is a division of The Wolff Company — on Wednesday announced the new program, which is being rolled out across the operator’s 13 communities across the Western U.S.

With the move, Revel is joining other senior living operators like Watermark Retirement, Lifestar Living and Holbrook Life in launching models with memberships for residents.

Under the new model, residents will be able to choose from four different membership tiers corresponding to a number of “membership points” that can be used for dining, special events and catering, salon and spa pampering, Lyft transportation, guest suite accommodations, housekeeping, laundry, handyman services and tickets purchased through the company’s concierge.

Residents through their memberships have included onsite amenities, wellness and lifestyle programming, group and private transportation services, utilities and weekly housekeeping and maintenance. They also have access to Revel Travel Club, through which they can stay at any other Revel community in a guest suite for up to seven nights per year at no added cost. Revel first piloted the program in 2021.

According to Revel, the new program is a step away from charging residents “rent,” and a step toward giving them more flexibility to receive the services they want.

“We’re proud to lead the senior living industry by creating transparent pricing models through our new website and moving away from the simple concept of ‘rent’ to a new membership model, which provides greater independence and additional choices for our residents to live life on their own terms,” Danette Opaczewski, executive vice president of resident experience and COO at Revel Communities, said in a press release.

Currently, Revel is offering the tiered memberships at Revel Palm Desert and Revel Vegas, with plans to launch them at additional communities in the coming months.
