Presbyterian Homes Names COO
Presbyterian Homes announced that Shannon Gutierrez has been named Chief Operating Officer.
Gutierrez will oversee efforts in operations, team-building, development and technology of the three life plan communities in the Presbyterian portfolio – Lake Forest Place, The Moorings of Arlington Heights and Westminster Place.
Gutierrez has been in senior living for more than 25 years including her most recent position as national VP for Anthem Memory Care.
Utopia Experiences Hires Industry Veteran DeVinney
Utopia Experiences (UE) announced Margaret DeVinney has joined the UE executive team as Chief Community Officer.
DeVinney’s background includes more than two decades of senior living experience, including roles with Belmont Village and in home health/hospice and infrastructure technology.
“Margaret’s passion for engagement through games, affinity for moving forward through technology and history of service to residents, families and senior living communities makes her a perfect addition to UE as our Chief Community Officer,” said Sasha Dawn, CEO and founder of Utopia Experiences.
Utopia Experiences is senior living’s first live nostalgic game show company, according to the company. The company’s flagship game is Spintopia. This game is “loosely based on America’s favorite game show and allows residents to solve puzzles with friends where everyone already knows the rules,” Utopia Experiences stated in the announcement of DeVinney’s hire.
Spintopia’s intergenerational game show started with four customers in January 2023 and is on track for 500+ customers by the end of the year.
Grow Your Occupancy Adds VP
Grow Your Occupancy announced that Dani Merlino has been named to the position of VP of strategic development.
Merlino brings more than 20 years in the senior living industry and a CV that consists of sales, operations and marketing roles including a stint at VP of sales.
She has worked for a number of notable operators including Jaybird Senior Living, Five Star Senior Living, Provision Living, Peterson Health Care and Lutheran Life Communities.
In her roll, Merlino will be a visible member of the Grow Your Occupancy presence at state and national conferences, panels, podcasts and webinars.
Millcroft Living Names ED
Millcroft Living announced that it has named Kristopher Brown as the executive director of its Newark community in Newark, Delaware. The community is a full-service rental-model continuing care retirement community that includes IL, AL, skilled nursing and rehabilitation.
Brown is a certified dementia care practitioner with more than 20 years of experience as a caregiver.
