Transforming Age Hires EVP of Housing and Hospitality

Transforming Age has hired Jeff Slichta as its new executive vice president of housing and hospitality.

In his new role, Slichta is responsible for the organization’s market-rate division, which includes its rental and continuing care retirement communities (CCRC).

Slichta has more than 25 years of experience in senior living leadership. He previously worked with Sunrise Senior Living as senior vice president of housing for the company’s west division, which has about 150 senior living communities under its umbrella.

Last month, Transforming Age announced plans to affiliate with Sustainable Housing for Ageless Generations (SHAG) to expand further into middle-market senior housing and pursue other strategic objectives.

Lifespace Names Chief Information Officer

Lifespace Communities has named Kenneth Poinsette to the role of chief information officer.

Poinsette has more than 25 years of experience in the information technology field. His hiring was effective Feb. 22.

Cadence Hires VP of Facilities Management

Cadence Living has hired Pat Teske to the role of vice president of facilities management.

Teste is now responsible for preventative maintenance, director management, renovation planning and plant management of Cadence’s senior living portfolio. He previously owned a business in the mechanical engineering and agriculture industries.

Legacy Senior Living Promotes Haun to HR Director

Allison Haun is now director of human resources at Legacy Senior Living following a promotion.

In her new role, Haun will continue to work on employee development advising the company’s senior leadership team on human resource matters.

She first joined Legacy in 2019 as a human resources coordinator, and she has more than two decades of HR experience overall.

Discovery Appoints Cesar as General Counsel

Discovery Senior Living last month named Timothy Cesar as its general counsel.

As general counsel, he will manage the provider’s legal issues and regulatory issues along with licensing, employment and contract law and corporate compliance. Cesar formerly worked as vice president of legal for Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD) and was with the company for two decades.

Lloyd Jones Names Chief Investment Officer

Private equity real estate investment, development and management firm Lloyd Jones has appointed Andy Caroll to the role of chief investment officer.

Caroll will help guide the company’s multifamily and senior housing investment strategies as part of his new role. He is the former director of investments for American House Senior Living, and worked with the company for 15 years.

National Senior Campuses Names Executive, Finance Directors

National Senior Campuses, which oversees and manages 16 Erickson Living CCRCs in nine states, has appointed Scott Sawicki as executive director and Dan Tyler as finance director.

Scott Sawicki took over as the governing board’s executive director and Dan Tyler joined the team as finance director officially on March 1. Both also have tenured careers at NSC’s management company, Erickson Living.

LifeSpire of Virginia Hires Corporate Controller, Names ED

Christine Moran is now corporate controller of LifeSpire of Virginia, and Heather Crumbaugh is now executive director of Lakewood, a senior living community in Richmond.

In her new role as corporate controller, Moran is leading the organization’s accounting team while monitoring and managing the organization’s finances and working as a financial consultant to senior leadership and communities. He most recently worked as the director of finance at The Faison Center.

Crumbaugh has more than 15 years of experience in senior living, and most recently worked as regional director of operations for Senior Lifestyle’s mid-Atlantic region.

JEA Senior Living Bolsters Executive Team

JEA Senior Living has hired Angie Fleenor as its new vice president of clinical services, and Kayla Wersal as vice president of programming.

Fleenor has more than 16 years of executive healthcare leadership experience in the sectors of senior living, skilled nursing, home health, hospice, and PCR laboratories. Wersal brings to her new job 35 years of experience in the health care industry, with previous leadership roles in clinical operations and business development.

Atlas ED Takes On Another Community in Georgia

Atlas Senior Living Executive Director Keith Martin is now executive director of a second community in Georgia.

Martin — already executive director of Legacy Ridge at Nesse Road in Woodstock, Georgia — has also assumed executive director duties at nearby community Legacy Ridge at Woodstock. The Legacy Ridge buildings have been under Atlas Senior Living management since 2019.

And in Alpharetta, Georgia, the company welcomed Wayman Parks at Legacy Ridge at Alpharetta. He first began the job in February, and previously worked for 17 years in senior living.

Kisco Names Executive Director for California Community

Ricardo Romero is the new executive director of Drake Terrace, a Kisco Senior Living community in San Rafael, California.

Romero has more than 13 years of experience in the senior living industry, and he has held multiple positions including business office manager, concierge manager and activities director during that time.

He previously worked as the resident relations director at Byron Park, a sister community to Drake Terrace. Romero joined Kisco in 2019.

The Springs Living Promotes Zander to ED of Montana Community

The Springs Living has promoted Jessica Zander to work as executive director and lead its The Springs at Grand Park community in Billings, Montana.

Zander recently completed the company’s executive-director-in-training program. She first joined The Springs Living in 2016 as a receptionist, and has since worked as business office manager and director of community relations.

Ohio Living Community Welcomes New Executive Director

Ohio Living Breckenridge Village, a life plan community in Willoughby, Ohio, is welcoming Julie Bauman as executive director.

In her new role, Bauman is tasked with overseeing the community’s operations. She previously worked as a licensed nursing home administrator for several skilled nursing facilities.

Radiant Names Executive Director for Montana Community

Elicia Ruiz is now executive director of Bozeman Lodge, a Radiant Senior Living community in Bozeman, Montana.

Ruiz has about 12 years of experience in senior living, and first began her career in the industry working in memory care.

Epoch Community in Massachusetts Gets Wellness Director

Mary Beth Sibbio is the new wellness director at Bridges by Epoch at Mashpee, a memory care and assisted living community in Mashpee, Massachusetts.

As wellness director, Sibbio is tasked with meeting state regulatory standards while also overseeing daily operations of the community’s wellness team and its patient-centered care.

She comes to the Epoch Senior Living community with 30 years of nursing experience.

Watermark at Brooklyn Heights Names Business Office Director

Watermark Retirement Communities has named Mariany Colombo to the role of business office director at Watermark at Brooklyn Heights, a $330 million New York City community that opened last October.

As business office manager, Colombo is responsible for managing the community’s billing and collections systems, preparing monthly financial statements and reviewing operating finances. She also will train and supervise the community’s concierge team.

Colombo previously worked as business office manager and human resources director for The Fountains at Rivervue, a Watermark community in Tuckahoe, New York.

Forthcoming Missouri Community Hires Resident Services Director

Meghan Schmitz is now director of resident services for Avalon Park, an independent living community from new provider Ascent Senior Care that is slated to open later this year in Cottleville, Missouri.

In her new role, Schmitz is responsible for hitting census goals and helping transition residents into the community. She has more than 17 years of experience in the senior living industry overall.

Pathway Community in Illinois Hires Lifestyle Specialist

Pathway to Living has named Jorie Langlois of Elgin to the role of lifestyle specialist at Victory Centre of Bartlett, a community owned and operated by Pathway to Living in Bartlett, Illinois.

Her experience spans 20 and includes roles in physician relations, patient relations, admissions and sales and marketing. She has spent time with companies that include Amita Health System, Symphony Care Network and HCR ManorCare.

Retirement Unlimited Names Regional VP, Director; VP of Communication, Engagement

Retirement Unlimited has appointed Emily Erickson to the role of vice president of clinical services, Amanda Stanfield as regional director of clinical services and promoted Beth Kolnok to the role of vice president of communication and engagement.

Erickson first joined the company in 2016, and most recently worked as regional director of clinical services. Stanfield also came aboard in 2016 and previously worked as a director of wellness at a community in Newport News, Virginia. In her new role, Stanfield will provide clinical oversight and direction.

Kolnok, meanwhile, joined Retirement Unlimited in 2017. In her new role, she is responsible for communication and advertising, in addition to providing direction and guidance for life enrichment programming and the company’s lifelong learning program, RUI University.

Taylor Design Names Design Director

Taylor Design, an architectural, interior design and design strategy firm that works partly in the senior living industry has hired Michael Levendusky as design director.

His previous work has spanned a variety of sectors, from healthcare, corporate, science and technology, to civic and residential projects.

Levendusky previously worked as a principal and senior architectural project designer for HOK.

Creating Results Hires Account Director

Senior-focused marketing agency Creating Results has named Travis Bridges as account director.

He previously worked as an account director at GlynnDevins, and has eight years of experience in the senior living industry.

Spellman Brady Hires Senior Designer

Interior design firm Spellman Brady & Company has named AshLee Snyder as a senior designer.

She will work on every step of the firm’s projects, from initial planning, design concept and construction documents to furniture specifications, procurement and installation. Snyder brings to her role 13 years of interior design experience in commercial and residential projects.
