$50 Million Community Proposed in Florida

A $50 million senior living community is planned for Sarasota, Florida.

The community, the Alloro at University Groves, will have 183 one- and two-bedroom apartments along with 10 two-bedroom penthouse suites. Each apartment will come with a screened balcony, kitchen and a washer and dryer, and will range from 708 square feet to 2,199 square feet. Rent is set to begin at about $1,750.

Amenities include a clubhouse with a living room and fireplace, a commercial kitchen with optional dining programs, a dining room and lounge, game room, arts and crafts room, movie theater, fitness center and yoga studio, private dining room and a private salon and spa. Outside, residents can also use a swimming pool, an outdoor kitchen and fire pit, a pickleball and bocce court, a dog park and several walking paths.

United Group is the project’s developer, owner, construction manager and property manager.

Watercrest Breaks Ground on Florida Community; Enters Final Construction Phase for Another

Watercrest Senior Living Group and Titan Development Real Estate Fund I have started work on a new senior living community in Winter Park, Florida.

The community, Watercrest Winter Park Assisted Living and Memory Care, will have 107 units and such amenities as a promenade, pool, fireplace, water wall, multiple dining venues, children’s play space and grand balconies. The community will also have a faux-outdoor “Market Street Plaza” streetscape.

D2 Architecture designed the community, with Walker and Company is building it. Watercrest Winter Park is currently on track for an an opening date in late 2019.

Additionally, Watercrest Senior Living Group and Providence One Partners recently announced the final construction phase of Sage Park Assisted Living and Memory Care, a senior living community in Kissimmee, Florida.

Construction partner Williams Company is nearly through building the 128-unit community, and Watercrest is preparing to welcome residents when it opens its doors.

As planned, the community will come with an array of amenities and memory care programming that focuses on personal life silhouettes, multi-sensory enhancements and music therapy. Sage Park Assisted Living and Memory Care is co-owned by affiliates of Providence One and Watercrest Properties.

Work Underway for Gardant Community in Indiana

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Sept. 25 to celebrate the beginning of construction for Glasswater Creek of Plainfield, an assisted living community for Indianapolis seniors who need some help to maintain their independence.

As planned, the community will have 131 private studio and one-bedroom apartments. The community’s private apartments will each have a kitchenette, bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually-controlled heating and air conditioning units and an emergency alert system. Amenities include a cafe, private dining room, lounges, fitness center, theater, physical therapy room, library and computer room.

Gardant Management Solutions will manage the community. American Structurepoint designed the community, and T&W Construction is building out the property. Community Reinvestment Foundation developed the project.

Life Plan Community in Phoenix Celebrates New Assisted Living Center

Sagewood, a life plan community in Phoenix, recently celebrated the completion of its new Desert Willow Assisted Living center.

The two-story center has 44 one- and two-bedroom apartment homes, a vaulted dining room, living room with fireplace, salon, activity room and fitness area. The new assisted living center will available to residents residing at Sagewood in late the fall of this year.

Wolff Announces Grand Opening for Washington Community

The Wolff Company has set Oct. 3 as the day to celebrate the grand opening of Revel Lacey (pictured above), a new community in Lacey, Washington.

Revel Lacey has 135 studio, one-, and two-bedroom independent living residences. Amenities include a salon and spa, fitness center, movie theater and a modern American restaurant and pub created by chef Beau MacMillan. Clearwater Living will manage the community.

Wolff is currently developing numerous senior living communities throughout the U.S., and plans to scale up its senior housing portfolio by investing $300-$400 million per year.

— Plans have been submitted for a new 173-unit senior living project in Eagan, Minnesota.

— An active adult community with 30 single family homes is in the works for Derry, New Hampshire.

— New Perspective Senior Living will have a hand in a planned 128-unit senior living community in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

— Workers are set to begin building two senior living high-rises this fall in Evanston, Illinois.

— A mixed-use development in Carrboro, North Carolina, is slated to include a 220-unit senior living community.

— Local officials have given the thumbs-up to plans for an 80-unit senior living development in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

— A developer has proposed building a new senior living community in Mesa, Arizona.

— A planned 71-acre mixed-use project in Ada County, Idaho, would include a senior living community.

— An evangelical megachurch in Rancho San Diego, California, is eyeing land next to its campus on which to build a senior living community.

— A senior living provider in Anderson Township, Ohio, has proposed a zoning change to allow the construction of a new community there.

— An Asian American cultural center in Austin, Texas, is moving forward with plans for an 80- to 100-unit senior living community.

— A groundbreaking ceremony is planned for a new continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Rome, Georgia.

Local officials are mulling a planned 182-unit senior living community in Flower Mound, Texas.

Plans are advancing for a 55+ community with 39 homes in Nashua, New Hampshire.

— A former Sears store in Irondequoit, New York, is slated to become senior housing.

— A senior living community in Watervliet, New York, recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new expansion project to add 35 new independent living apartments.

— Construction is underway for a 48-unit assisted living and memory care community in Alpena, Michigan.

Work has started for a new age-restricted condominium project in West Des Moines, IA.

Complete

— The ribbon has been cut on a new 98-unit senior living community in Elk River, Minnesota.
