Charter Senior Living to Manage New Alabama Community 

LifeCenters Communities for Seniors is partnering with Naperville, Illinois-based Charter Senior Living Charter on a forthcoming community in Hampton Cove, Alabama.

The planned community will have 190 independent living, assisted living and memory care units, according to a press release.

Construction is slated to begin in the fall.

Silverado Plans Memory Care Community Near Chicago

Silverado is gearing up to lay the foundation for a new memory care community in St. Charles, Illinois, which is just outside of Chicago.

When it opens next summer, the community will serve up to 90 people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory-impairing conditions. The community is slated to include a coffeehouse-style bistro, beauty salon, country store and spa. It will also have a large outdoor courtyard with covered patios and walkways.

The opening will mark the fifth Silverado community in the Chicago area.

Dominium Begins Construction on Senior Housing Near Minneapolis

Dominium, a Minneapolis-based apartment development and management company, is poised to break ground on a 194-unit affordable senior housing development in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota.

A groundbreaking celebration is planned for August 8, according to a press release.

The new development will include a community room, kitchen and fireplace, craft and card rooms, beauty salon, library, fitness room, theater area and a large outdoor community space with grills and lounge area.

Renovations Underway at CCRC in Alabama

A $42 million renovation and construction project is currently underway at Fair Haven, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Birmingham, Alabama.

As part of the repositioning, construction crews are now working to add 15 new independent living and 23 new assisted living apartment homes.

The project also includes changes and upgrades for common areas, including a new beauty parlor and barber salon, gift shop and a grand living room with fireplace.

Erickson Adding Skilled Nursing and Memory Care Building at Maryland CCRC

Construction is now underway for a $47.5 million skilled nursing and memory care building at Erickson Living’s Charlestown CCRC in Cantonsville, Maryland.

The new building, dubbed Wilton Overlook, will have 192 units and provide care for 207 residents, the company announced. The first phase of the three-phase project is expected to wrap up in April 2019.

As planned, the new building would include multi-purpose activity and programming spaces, a theater, living rooms, a salon, conference rooms, a game lounge, a library and a card game room. The building will also include a courtyard.

The project is part of Erickson’s plan to to expand and renovate its existing assisted living, memory care and nursing care residences and amenities at Charlestown.

Tradition Senior Living Breaks Ground on Houston Community

Owner, developer and operator Tradition Senior Living has broken ground on a new senior living community in Houston.

When it opens, The Tradition-Buffalo Speedway will offer a continuum of care that includes a 222-unit independent living building and a 94-unit assisted living and memory care building next door. This will be the third community developed by the Dallas-based senior living company.

The new community will come with an underground parking garage, restaurant-style dining in multiple venues, daily activities, transportation and wellness programs, the company said. The project also includes an indoor pool, a weight room, a Pilates room and a group-exercise room for classes taught by an in-house fitness instructor.

Brandywine Celebrates Opening of Community in New Jersey

Employees of Brandywine Living and several hundred guests hit the dance floor in June to help mark the opening of a new community in Livingston, New Jersey.

The 120-room assisted living community includes a therapy and recreational indoor pool, pub, beauty salon, book club, wine bar, performance stage, Internet lounge, billiards table, a bistro courtyards and a deck with both water and fire features.

Tennessee CCRC Cuts Ribbon on Renovated Rehab Center

Asbury Place, a CCRC in Kingsport, Tennessee, recently held a ribbon cutting ceremony for its newly renovated therapeutic rehabilitation center.

The center provides physical, speech and occupational therapy with a “focus on regaining function and wellness as quickly as possible,” according to a press release.

HHHunt Opens New Senior Living Community in North Carolina

HHHunt announced the opening of Spring Arbor of Cary, a senior living community in Cary, North Carolina.

The community consists of 40 assisted living and 40 memory care residences, and amenities such as furnished resident bedrooms, family and quiet spaces and a fully accessible landscaped courtyard with gardening opportunities, water features, covered seating areas, and walking paths.

Six New Assisted Living Communities Open in Dallas

Avendelle Assisted Living recently opened six new senior housing properties in the Dallas area, according to a press release.

The communities are based in neighborhoods and residential areas and “offer a cozy, comfortable environment where residents can feel safe and relaxed,” the company said.
