Sunrise Senior Living Launches National Veterans Day Campaign

Sunrise Senior Living (NYSE: SRZ) recently announced a campaign honoring service veterans and to inform them that they may be eligible to receive government benefits that can help with the costs of assisted living.  Sunrise will hold events at more than 300 Sunrise communities across the country this Veterans Day on November 11, 2010.  The campaign is set to highlight "Aid and Attendance" that can provide $2,000 per month for a veteran or a surviving spouse to pay for assistance with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing or eating. Many veterans who ordinarily would not qualify for a veterans pension because of their income may qualify for this benefit because medical expenses are deducted from the income calculation.

"Too many veterans and their families are unaware that they may be entitled to substantial benefits that could help offset the cost of living in a senior assisted living community," said Kelly Myers, SVP of Sales for Sunrise. "Each day, we serve more than 5,000 veterans who are residents in our communities. These families have made tremendous sacrifices for our country and they deserve to receive every benefit to which they are entitled."
