They’re back!
It’s that time of year again and SHN is pleased to announce the 2015 Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Awards, kicking off this week.
This highly-anticipated awards event returns for the third year running to recognize cutting-edge design, excellence, and quality in senior living for 2015.
Last year brought attention to a post-acute trailblazer complete with spa and salon, a modern day take on a famous Shaker Round Barn, and a senior living community constructed as part of a massive 160-acre city-meets-farmland design in Arizona.
This year promises more unparalleled projects, more innovation, and more communities that have vastly improved the lives of seniors through design.
A team of expert panelists from the senior living industry will choose this year’s winners, to be announced in December on Senior Housing News.
“Outstanding entries will be those that push the boundaries on the trending topics of 2015,” says Michael Zusman, CEO of Kwalu, the exclusive sponsor of this year’s Senior Housing News Architecture & Design Awards.
These might include multi-functional spaces that allow for cost effective re-purposing over time, transitional styling, communities designed for older adults and high acuity residents, and meaningful outdoor spaces, Zusman says.
“We are very proud to support SHN by sponsoring this year’s Architecture and Design Awards,” he says. “By focusing attention on cutting edge projects, and the sharing of best practices, SHN is living up to its vision of spurring innovation that ultimately helps improve the lives of all residents in senior housing in this country.”
