Secret Meth Lab to Blame for Fatal Ohio Nursing Home Fire

A fire that killed one person and injured several others in an Ohio nursing home was caused by what a fire official termed a “clandestine methamphetamine laboratory” in one of the facility’s rooms, reports CNN.

The fire occurred last Sunday night at Park Haven Home, located about 60 miles northeast of Cleveland. The local fire department chief did not give any details about what led to the conclusion that a secret meth lab was the cause of the fire, but did distribute photos showing “scorched walls and a blackened table with remnants of an unidentified object on it.”

Five victims were taken to a local medical center after the fire, reports CNN, and one person died Monday morning after being transferred to another local facility’s burn unit.
