The Ensign Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:ENSG) announced on Thursday that it has acquired the underlying real estate and other operating assets of Pocatello Care and Rehabilitation Center, an 88-bed skilled nursing facility in Pocatello, Idaho.
Effective Nov. 15, the recent acquisition has been operated by an Ensign subsidiary since Oct. 2006 under a lease with an option to purchase.
“This purchase reflects our deep and long-term commitment to Southeastern Idaho and to the state of Idaho generally,” said Christopher Christensen, Ensign’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
The purchase was made with cash, bringing Ensign’s portfolio to 100 healthcare facilities, 74 of which are owned by Ensign; three hospice companies; and three home health businesses across 10 states. Additionally, Ensign affiliates hold purchase options on five of its 26 leased facilities.
