Suburban Chicago Retirement Home Votes On Fire District Fight

An interesting article in the Chicago Tribune entitled, “Retirement community to decide south suburban fire district fight at polls” talks about a dispute between two fire protection districts that is going to be settled by an upcoming referendum voted on by members of a suburban retirement community.  The parcel is merely 1.5 miles and is home to the farm land, which is ripe for development on future economic recovery, and the retirement home.  Reading between the lines, these municipalities are jockeying for future tax revenues which puts the 80 residents right in the middle.
