Avista Senior Living recently announced the transition of 14 new communities in three states as the operator continues to grow, according to a news release from the company.
The 14 communities across Arizona, Idaho and Washington now bring the total number of communities in the Phoenix, Arizona-based operator’s portfolio to 30. Avista did not immediately identify the owners of the communities or the operators that previously managed them.
According to a news release, the transition was staggered over a three-month period, which was completed early last month.
“Our philosophy at Avista Senior Living is ‘kindness counts,’ and that is the foundation of everything we do,” said Avista Senior Living CEO Kris Woolley in the news release. “We’re excited to incorporate that philosophy with all the wonderful residents & team members at these new communities.”
The recent expansion increases the company’s ability to serve older adults across the country, with the company operating under various brands. The family of Avista-related brands includes Spring Gardens, Evergreen Village, The Summit at Sunland Springs, Terra Pointe, and The Palazzo.
During a webinar covered by SHN in May, Woolley said that inquiries for Avista’s management prowess were growing, noting that operators should consider partnerships and joint-venture deal structure to spread risk equally in the event of market turbulence.
Avista is the latest senior living operator to add more than a dozen communities to its portfolio in recent months. Others include Trustwell Living, which announced the addition of 24 more communities on Oct. 11, and Gardant Management, which added 25 former Pathway to Living communities in August.
