Cedarwood Development expands Illinois community

Melody Living, a senior living community at Lake in the Hills, Illinois, expanded its campus footprint with a new active adult and IL neighborhood adjacent to the existing AL and memory care residences.

The expansion opened on July 24. The community has 96 units with one and two-bedroom layouts, pet friendly options and feature private dining, party spaces and an onside restaurant with a bistro and bar. Other amenities include valet services, patio and courtyard, walking paths, fire pit, outdoor chess board and more.

The first phase of the community opened in 2020.

APAH breaks ground on Virginia affordable project

The Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) broke ground at Riggs Crossing Senior Residences, a new affordable senior housing development in Arlington, Virginia.

The project will add 93 apartments for independent adults 62 and older, featuring 52 apartments for residents who live 30% at or below the median family income tax credit.

The project is a partnership with EYA LLC. APAH has nearly 400 affordable apartments under construction and an additional 1,500 in its development pipeline, according to a news release regarding the new development.
