Affordable housing for LGBT community planned

Mary’s House for Older Adults has partnered with Northern Real Estate Urban Ventures to build its first communal housing for adults 60 and older, including LGBT individuals.

The building will be located in the Fort Dupont Neighborhood in southeast Washington D.C. on an 8,885 square foot site, according to a news release from Mary’s House.

The design is for a three-story structure with a basement to house 15 single-occupancy residential units and over 5,000 square-feet of communal shared living space.

The ground level will feature common spaces with a reception area, great room, porch, kitchen, dining, living room and administrative offices.

Leopardo starts on affordable senior housing project

Leopardo started work on a four-story, 54,106 square-foot affordable senior housing development in Mount Prospect, Illinois.

The project will occupy a lot that has remained vacant since 1975.

The new residences will feature 41 one-bedroom units, 12 two-bedroom units and is going to be financed through low-income tax housing credits.

Leopardo is working closely with Prospect Senior Lofts, Pivotal Housing Partners, and BDCL Architects to complete the project by the summer of 2024.

LCS-managed Chicago luxury community opens

Clarendale Six Corners, a Life Care Services (LCS) managed luxury community in Chicago, Illinois, is now open.

The 10-story community offers 258 units, with 114 IL units, 98 AL units and 46 memory care apartments. The community offers boutique, hotel-style amenities with multiple dining options, outdoor terrace, fitness center, spa, theater and artist studio.

Walters opens IL affordable senior housing project

Walters recently had a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the opening of Cornerstone at Branchburg in Branchburg, New Jersey.

The 150-unit income-restricted housing units will be offered to those 55 and up and offer income-restricted housing units, which range between 700 and 900-square-feet.

The units feature a full-size washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchens, window blinds and key fob access.

United Properties opens active adult community

United Properties announced the grand opening of Amira Minnetonka, a new active adult community in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

The community features 186 units from alcove studio to three-bedroom floor plans. The units feature walk-in closets, in-unit laundry and individual climate control.

Of the units, 19 are designated for affordable housing.
