Goodwin Living selects COO

Alexandria, Virginia-based Goodwin Living recently named Chandra Kumar as the company’s new chief operating officer (COO), after previously serving as executive director and vice president for Erickson Senior Living.

She succeeds Linda Lateana, who served over three decades with Goodwin Living. She most recently led all operations for Charlestown Senior Living, an Erickson Senior Living flagship community that supports 2,000 residents and more than 900 staffand in Catonsville, Maryland.

Vermont life plan community adds CEO

Wake Robin, a life plan community in Shelburne, Vermont, announced Meagan Buckley as president and CEO.

Buckley is a licensed nursing home administrator who served as director of health and resident services at Wake Robin for the last five years. The community serves approximately 400 older adults.

She also was previously named the community’s interim CEO and president, and she succeeds outgoing president and CEO Martha Maksym, who led the community through the Covid-19 pandemic.

Commonwealth Senior LIving expands sales and marketing team

Commonwealth Senior Living recently announced the expansion of its sales and marketing team with two recent hires and five promotions.

Promotions:

-April Theus, senior sales specialist

-Paul Adam, sales specialist

-Stephanie Johnson, sales onboarding specialist

-Kimberly Wilkerson, internet sales counselor

-Taylor Davis, director of marketing and digital strategies

Hires:

-Brian Weston, sales specialist in Michigan

-Jennifer Walker, sales and marketing project associate

Theus joined Commonwealth in 2016 as the sales director at Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House in Portsmouth, Virginia before being promoted in 2019 to sales specialist.

Adam previously served as sales director at Commonwealth Senior Living at Berryville, having joined the company last year.

Johnston joined in 2018 as sales director at Commonwealth Senior Living at Gloucester House before being promoted in 2022 to sales specialist.

Wilkerson joined the company in 2021 as sales director at Commonwealth Senior Living at the Eastern Shore.

Davis joined the company in 2020 as content marketing manager.

Weston brings a decade of experience selling senior living in the Detroit, Michigan markets.

Walker previously served as executive assistant for the superintendent of Greene County Schools.

Texas community adds medical advisor

Sage Oak of Denton in Denton, Texas recently announced Dr. Alex Anastase as chief medical advisor.

Anastase is a board-certified physiatrist and member of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He serves as Medical Director for Select Rehabilitation of Denton, Denton Rehabilitation and Nursing and Senior Care Denton.

His practice focuses on patients that need assistance with mobility, assistance of daily living (ADLs) services, cognition, and swallowing. He also provides recommendations for future management with an emphasis on regaining function and independence to the best degree possible, and other alternatives when needed, a news release announcing his appointment said.

Watercrest Senior LIving Group welcomes dining services specialist

Port Saint Lucie, Florida-based Watercrest Senior Living Group announced Sheila Fioretti will step into a newly-created role as dining services specialist.

In the role, she will lead an enhanced culinary program to elevate dining across the communities operated by the Watercrest Senior Living Group. She joined the Watercrest team as executive chef prior to this new role.

Salmon Senior Living appoints new ED 

Salmon Senior Living recently announced Jeff Sellers as the new executive director of Salmon at Medway, a community in Medway, Massachusetts.

The property features amenities that meet Sellers’ hospitality experience, including a kayak launch, trails, arcade room, ice skating rink and hydroponic gardens.

He most recently served as executive director at Salmon’s The Willows at Worcester, having started with Salmon in 2020.

The Aspenwood Company appoints ED, makes promotions

The Village on Morehead, a luxury community set to open later this year by the Aspenwood Company in Charlotte, North Carolina, announced Leslie Walker as executive director.

The luxury community is set to open in November, offering upscale amenities and services to Charlotte residents and beyond.

Internally, Aspenwood also made six promotions to build its leadership structure.
