Ventas adds new president of corporate comms

Chicago-based real estate investment trust (REIT) Ventas (NYSE: VTR) announced it had hired Molly McEvily as vice president of corporate communications.

She will be responsible for leading internal and external communications strategies and implementation.

McEvily joins Ventas from global investment firm Citadel where she served most recently as chief operating officer of global affairs over the last 10 years.

Ventas CEO Debra Cafaro called McEvily an “accomplished public affairs professional, thinker and strategist.”

“We are confident she will have an immediate positive impact, as she brings new ideas and perspectives to reinforce and elevate Ventas’s reputation for excellence and integrity,” Cafaro said in a news release regarding the hiring.

Ventas owns over 1,200 properties in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom.

AlerisLife welcomes new leader as CFO, senior VP

Newton, Massachusutes-based senior housing operator AlerisLife (Nasdaq: ALR) announced Heather Pereira was appointed as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.

She most recently worked as vice president and corporate controller of Acushnet Holdings Corp. since 2017. She held several roles within the accounting and finance departments of Acushnet Holdings and brings over 20 years of accounting and finance experience to AlerisLife.

AlerisLife President and CEO Jeff Leer touted Pereira’s experience in welcoming her to the company.

“We are excited to have her bring her experience to AlerisLife to lead our finance and accounting functions through the implementation of our restructuring to improve our operating results,” Leer said.

Pereira will succeed Leer, who in addition to serving as president and CEO, was also previously working as chief financial officer.

AlerisLife manages 120 communities with 20 communities under ownership across 27 states.

Houston luxury community names new director

The Buckingham in Houston, Texas recently welcomed Philip Jacob as its new executive director after serving with the community since 2011.

Jacob joined the Buckingham as a health care administrator in 2011 and previously served as interim executive director of the community.

During his tenure, the community has received five-star ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), along with other accolades including the ACHA/NCAL Bronze Commitment to Quality Award based on the Malcolm Baldrige Health Care Criteria for Performance Excellence.
