Presbyterian Senior Living Names New CEO

Presbyterian Senior Living has named Dan Davis as president and CEO as he looks to propel the nonprofit senior living provider forward into the future.

Davis, who previously served as the Pennsylvania-based company’s senior vice president and COO, will take over for current CEO James Bernardo, who is retiring at the end of the year. He’s worked with PSL for 21 years, with more than three decades of aging services leadership experience.

He was selected following a nationwide search with the assistance of global executive recruitment firm WittKiefer. Davis will assume the role as president and CEO on Nov. 1.

Davis’ promotion marks the fifth CEO hire for PSL since the company’s inception. The organization has more than 30 communities with over 6,000 residents in four states.

In a statement provided to Senior Housing News, Davis said he would in the short-term take aim at continuing to recoup occupancy and stabilize labor costs.

“Those challenges will be a prime area of focus,” Davis wrote to Senior Housing News.

In line with the company’s strategic plan, Davis will also focus on improving existing communities and expanding home and community-based services, while looking to build partnerships across the aging services industry.

“With the help of the incredible team at PSL, I am confident that we will continue to build upon the legacy of PSL and create a brighter future for aging services,” Davis said in a news release announcing his promotion.
