Distinctive Living announces portfolio expansion

New Jersey-based Distinctive Living added five new locations to its senior living portfolio with the move expanding boutique living options to seniors seeing independent living, assisted living and memory care services.

The communities expand the brand’s existing national portfolio, bringing new sophisticated senior living communities to Alabama, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, pushing the portfolio to 22 communities across 10 states. The company’s development service arm, Distinctive Living Development LLC, currently has 11 projects under development.

In most communities, onsite amenities include spa facilities, medical clinics, salons, gyms, performing art centers, bars, cafes, and more.

$30M redevelopment for affordable apartments underway

Evergreen Real Estate Group started construction on the Bellwood Senior Apartments in Bellwood, Illinois on Thursday.

The $30 million project replaces a former Walgreens pharmacy with an 80-unit affordable rental community for seniors in the Bellwood area.

Luxury community breaks ground in Dallas metro area

The Outlook at Windhaven, a community of over 200 units for assisted living, independent living and memory care in Plano, Texas outside of Dallas.

The 18-acre campus totaling 530,000 square-feet was designed by senior living architecture firm three under Greystone Development’s leadership team for nonprofit owner Forefront Living.

The Outlook at Windhaven will include 30 independent living cottage homes, 153 independent living apartments, and a 56-unit building for assisted living and memory care.

Phoenix Senior Living adds independent living to Louisiana community

Georgia-based Phoenix Senior Living announced it added independent living units to the Hammond, Louisiana location known as The Phoenix at Hammond.

The community originally opened in 2021 and serves assisted living and memory care residents.

A total of 24 IL units are now open with First Guaranty Bank partnering on the project for lending. A total of 91 units are now on the Hammond community campus.

Phoenix Senior Living, founded in 2014, is a privately-held senior living operator with over 63 communities throughout the Southeast.

Aegis Living opens 35th community

Washington-based Aegis Living recently opened Aegis Living Greenwood in northwest Seattle.

The five-story, 96-unit, 89,000 square-foot building is inspired by the neighborhood built with Tudor Revival architecture popularized in the 20s and 30s in the U.S, with the community incorporating luxury elements mixed with English and American flair.

Amenities on site include upscale dining, a theater, pub, salon, barbershop and a rooftop garden terrace. Wellness amenities include a fitness studio and massage room.

Assisted living, memory and transitional care are all offered at the site.

Aegis Living operates 35 communities in three states with other communities currently under development.

Spectrum Retirement Communities expands in Illinois

McShane Construction recently announced completed construction of The Oaks at Algonquin for Spectrum Retirement Communities. The community encompasses assisted living, independent living and memory care in Rosemont, Illinois.

Each independent living unit features a full kitchen and assisted living units incorporate a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave.

Community amenities include three restaurants, a pub, a salon, media lounge, theater, health club and multiple community areas.

Design was completed by Vessel Architecture.

— The Kolter Group LLC proposed a new senior living facility in Palm Beach County, Florida.

— PVL Investments LLC announced plans for a 200 unit senior living project in Vandalia, Ohio.

Construction started on Parmore Anna Senior Living in Anna, Texas with multifamily developer JPI handling the project.
