Harmony Senior Services has promoted senior living veteran Margaret Cabell to the role of CEO.
Cabell started with Harmony in 2020 as chief sales and marketing officer. In that role, she helped overhaul the company’s digital marketing shortly after the pandemic and all of its disruptions.
Before that, she worked with operators including American Retirement Corporation and later Brookdale Senior Living (NYSE: BKD) While at Brookdale over her 15-year career, Cabell worked in operations at various levels from community, regional and corporate levels where she led over 240 communities in various markets throughout the Southeast and Texas.
In a post on LinkedIn, Cabell said she was “honored and excited” to be sharing her latest promotion.
“I am grateful to the wonderful Harmony family for their support as I take on this role in this wonderful organization,” Cabell wrote.
In a post on the company’s website, Harmony describes Cabell’s leadership style as “pacesetting, motivational and visionary.”
“She is progress-focused and an inspirational leader who has built strong personal relationships with leaders at every level in the organization over the past two years,” the website reads. “The Harmony community team’s enthusiastic support and partnership match her enthusiasm for serving our communities.”
A representative for the company could not immediately be reached for comment as of this article’s publication Friday afternoon.
Cabell’s appointment as top leader comes three years after former MBK Senior Living executive Terry Howard joined Harmony as CEO. He succeeded Stephanie Handelson, who served as Harmony’s CEO starting in 2018 before leaving a year later to work as CEO of Greystone Healthcare Management.
Charleston, South Carolina-based Harmony has a portfolio of more than 30 communities in 12 states offering independent living, assisted living and memory care.
