Oppidan Starts Work on Luxury Community in California

Property development firm Oppidan has broken ground on a new senior living community in Newport Beach, California.

The community is planned to span 117,000 square feet and include 101 apartments for assisted living and memory care residents. Amenities include an interior courtyard with full-sized olive trees, a courtyard bar, theater, salon, spa, fitness and wellness center, activity and game rooms, a wine vault, community dining room, pub and outdoor spaces.

Clearwater Living, which operates seven senior living communities throughout California and Nevada, is slated to operate the community. The operator is expected to begin welcoming residents in early 2024.

Kisco Project in North Carolina Tops Out

A Kisco Senior Living addition underway at a community in Raleigh, North Carolina, has reached its maximum height.

The “topping out” means the project is a step closer to the 18-story, 191-unit luxury addition welcoming residents.The construction milestone is set to be recognized with a beam-signing ceremony on May 25.

If all goes according to plan, the community will welcome residents in spring, 2023. Project partners include Clancy & Theys Construction and THW Design.

Silverstone, Watermark Unveil $100M Elite Collection Community Near D.C.

Development partners Silverstone Senior Living and Watermark Retirement Communities have unveiled the latest community in their Elite Collection: a 163-apartment community called The Landing.

The nine-story community is meant to resemble a boutique hotel, and features high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and a two-story lobby with a baby grand piano. Other amenities include a full bar, fitness areas, salon and day spa, private courtyards, a rooftop terrace, billiards, community gardens and firepit seating.

The community also hosts a new CVS Pharmacy.

Civitas Community in Florida Now Open

Civitas Senior Living has opened a new senior living community in Port Orange, Florida.

Apartments include stainless steel appliances, walk-in closets, and designer touches, and the community has amenities such as a movie theater with a 100-inch screen and seating for more than 20 people, multiple indoor and outdoor dining venues, a pool heated by geothermal energy, a key fob fitness system that tracks steps and connects to an onsite gym.

Evergreen Real Estate Group, CJE SeniorLife Complete Affordable Community Near Chicago

Evergreen Real Estate Group and Council for Jewish Elderly, doing business as CJE SeniorLife, have welcomed residents to Ann Rainey Apartments, a 60-unit affordable senior housing rental community in Evanston, Illinois

The $25 million community is located next to an existing adult day services center that CJE SeniorLife operates. Amenities include a community room, fitness center, outdoor terrace and lounge areas on each floor, in addition to an outdoor wooden deck.

— A hotel in Lexington, Kentucky, is slated to become a 110-unit senior living community.
