Pathway to Living Grows Leadership Team

Pathway to Living recently announced multiple leadership changes to move the company forward.

Alex Germain-Robin will join the firm as vice president of operations and Shea Krause returns as vice president of sales and marketing. Both will report to Jeff Floyd, who joined the firm as senior vice president, senior living operations earlier this year.

Krause returns to Pathway to Living, having served briefly as regional director of sales in 2019. Krause will be responsible for the strategic direction of the firm’s metric-centered sales strategy and performance improvement. Previously Krause served as sales director at Discovery Senior Living and regional director of sales at both Pegasus Senior Living and Enlivant Senior Living.

Germain-Robin will be responsible for building and developing operational initiatives, processes and procedures to support the firm’s strategic direction. Within Discovery Senior Living, Germain-Robin previously served as regional director of operations and was the vice president of regional operations at Pegasus Senior Living and vice president of operations at Enlivant Senior Living.

Lloyd Jones Brings SVP Onboard

Joshua Lowe was recently named senior vice president of asset management for Lloyd Jones Senior Living. Lowe will be based out of Andersonville, Tennessee and work remotely with the Lloyd Jones team, according to Lloyd Jones Vice Chairman Tod Petty.

Lowe previously worked as administrator and executive director within the senior living space, having most recently worked as an regional vice president at Atria Senior Living.

Palm Springs Community Names Leader

Living Out Palm Springs appointed Ernie Shaffer as president of its flagship Palm Springs active adult senior living community that’s set to open next spring.

The community is geared for LGBTQ+ people providing a safe space for residents and visitors.

Shaffer brings over three decades of experience working in senior living as director of operations and having served as senior executive director at Segovia Palm Desert.

Ventas Welcomes Investor Relations SVP

Chicago-based real estate investment trust (REIT) Ventas announced Bill Grant was hired as the senior vice president of investor relations, with Grant to start on May 9.

Grant brings more than 20 years of investment management experience through his role at Morgan Stanley as portfolio manager and head of U.S. real estate.

Nashville Senior Living Provider Hires Medical Director, Administrator

Blakeford Senior Living announced it recently hired Dr. Ralf Habermann as its new medical director and Ashley Briggs as the new memory care and assisted living administrator.

Habermann is an internal and geriatric medicine specialist and has been practicing at Vanderbilt for more than 26 years. He is also the medical director of the Home Based Primary Care program and the Geriatric Primary Care Clinic at Nashville’s Veteran Affairs. An assistant professor of medicine and a faculty member of the Autonomic Dysfunction Center at Vanderbilt, Habermann has been involved with long-term care for decades.

Briggs brings 15 years of experience in senior living with a focus on Alzheimer’s care program development. She is also a Community Educator and Support Group Facilitator for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Tennessee Community Welcomes New Director

Chattanooga, Tennessee-based East Ridge Residences, an independent living community, added Jessica Harthorn as community relations director last month.

Harthorn was previously a news anchor after spending 16 years in broadcast media and also previously worked as an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the Department of Communications.

MBK Promotes From Within for New VP

MBK Senior Living promoted Diana Engle to Vice President of health and wellness having joined MBK as regional director of resident enrichment in 2018. She was previously promoted last year as national director of wellness programming and brings nearly three decades of senior living work experience to the company.

Engle will oversee resident care services and wellness programs in her new role. Engle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Sonoma State University and a Master of Science in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University.

Ohio Living Adds Two Directors

Two new executive directors have been named for Ohio Living, with Ohio Living Quaker Heights hiring Drew Burnett and Ohio Living Cape May hiring Sarah Thompson.

Burnett previously served as Ohio Living Llanfair since January of this year. Before joining Ohio Living, he worked at multiple senior living organizations. Burnett is a licensed nursing home administrator and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and electronic media from Eastern Kentucky University.

Thompson previously worked as assistant vice president of small house neighborhoods for Otterbein SeniorLife where she oversaw four of the company’s nine neighborhoods. She also worked as assistant administrator and administrator at two other Otterbein communities.

Thompson is a licensed nursing home administrator and holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s degree in gerontology and psychology from Miami University.

Connecticut Community Appoints Spiritual Director

Waveny LifeCare Network named Danielle Millien as spiritual services director.

Millien previously worked as chaplain for Boston Medical Center, Yale New Haven Hospital, Stamford Hospital, Westchester Medical Center and more recently as hospice chaplain for Constellation Health.

She is currently working toward her Board Certification in Chaplaincy through the Association of Professional Chaplains and following her calling to become an ordained priest within the Episcopal Diocese of New York.

North Carolina Community Adds Dining Director

Windsor Run, a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Matthews, North Carolina appointed Kelly McGrath as director of dining services for the Erickson Senior Living-managed property.

McGrath brings 30 years of culinary experience and restaurant management to Windsor Run and previously served as chef de cuisine and associate dining director at Maris Grove in Pennsylvania and interim director at Fox Run in Michigan.

She holds a degree in Pastry Arts from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College.

Minnesota Management Firm Brings on Regional Director

Health Dimensions Group (HDG) added Scott Hochstadt as regional director of operations for the post-acute, long-term care senior living provider

In his role, Hochstadt will manage and administer the HDG portfolio of skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care and independent living communities across Minnesota.

HDG manages 49 senior care and living communities in seven states, serving more than 2,700 residents and 2,700 employees.

Having worked as both an administrator and a human resources professional for skilled nursing providers, Hochstadt has a track record of service in the senior care industry. Previously, he served as vice president of operations for a senior living and long-term care provider based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Hochstadt received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill. and a master’s degree in Human Resource Management and Development from National Louis University in Chicago.

Marketing Firm Names President, Creative Director

Solinity announced it had appointed Sara Mitchell as president of Solinity Marketing after several new hires for the PR and marketing agency that focuses on senior living and health care.

Mitchell is a founding partner in the company and recently served as Vice President of

Partner Relations as well as overseeing team building and operations.

Meanwhile, longtime senior living marketer and design expert, Tighe O’Connor, was appointed creative director for the agency.

Retirement Unlimited Adds New Leaders

Virginia-based Retirement Unlimited Inc. hired Antwan Holt as vice president of resident engagement and Kevin Colley as vice president of sales.

Holt will help lead life enrichment teams in Virginia and Florida while Colley will help lead sales initiatives and sales goals across the company’s portfolio.

Holt brings nearly a decade of senior living experience to RUI and he received Bachelor of Science in Physical Education/Exercise Science at Alabama A&M University and his Masters of Arts in Health and Wellness Counseling at Liberty University.

Colley brings nearly three decades of health care and senior living experience to the company. He received his Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Florida.
