Firms Partner for Construction at Bronx Senior Living Site
Asland Capital Partners and Pembroke Residential Holdings have secured $100 million in financing for development of a 154-unit affordable senior housing project n New York City.
The 14-story project is scheduled to be complete in Fall 2024 and be designated for those 62 and older with 30% of the units allocated for seniors who were formerly homeless.
Urban Investment Group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, New York Homes and Community Renewal and the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development are also partners on the project.
Ohio Senior Living Operator Makes Development Moves
Ohio-based National Church Residences recently celebrated the grand opening of its Northland Gate community and the groundbreaking at the Salem Village Community as an affordable senior housing option for Columbus, Ohio-area residents.
The $12 million Northland Gate community is a three-story, 85,000 square-foot community with 94 one and two-bedroom apartments on a four acre site. Amenities include campus Wi-Fi, a fitness center, a community room with a kitchen, an outdoor walking path with a garden and an on-site laundry.
The $12 million Salem Village community is a 76-unit facility made up of one-bedroom apartments in a four-story building. Amenities include Wi-Fi, a library, a community room with a kitchen, a fitness center and convenient access to public transportation.
Between 2022 and 2024, National Church Residences will add seven communities and nearly 600 new units in the Columbus area.

Suburban Milwaukee Senior Living Project Underway
Matter Development and Three Leaf Partners announced plans to open a senior living community in Mequon, Wisconsin known as Lumia Mequon in partnership with Koru Health.
Construction has already started on the one and two-story community that will include 68 units for assisted living, memory care and speciality care.
Amenities for the project include secure landscaped grounds with walking paths and courtyards, a bocce court, state-of-the-art pizza oven and club room.

NYC Community Opens at York Avenue
Engel Burman has announced the opening of The Bristal at York Avenue, the company’s first project in Manhattan and its 23rd community overall, as reported previously by Senior Housing News.
The community helps address the city’s demand for senior living bringing 132 apartments including a 44 unit neighborhood for memory care. The property includes programs offered by Juilliard and the Lincoln Center.
Amenities include a creative arts studio, beauty salon, fitness center and more.
Civitas Senior Living Expands in Arizona
Civitas Senior Living is ready to welcome residents to its Flagstaff, Arizona community known as The Bluffs of Flagstaff offering independent living and memory care services.
The development is a 210,572 square-foot property with three-story assisted living and four story independent living campus including 123 independent living units, 64 assisted living units and 25 memory care units.
The residences feature stainless steel appliances, walk-in closets, and designer touches throughout the building. Independent apartments will each have their own laundry room with washer and dryer.
Other amenities include a heated indoor pool, all-day bistro, pub, steakhouse, common room areas, a movie theater, two on-site salons, an activity rooms, library, fitness center, putting green, interior courtyard, outdoor garden areas, walking trails, dog yards, a dog spa, garages, and covered parking. The ground floor memory care cottage features an outdoor courtyard as well.
The architect is Kaas Wilson, contractor is Greenberg Construction, and the designer is Senior By Design.
Nashville Metro Area Senior Living Project Complete
Integral Senior Living (ISL) is managing Cloverland Park Senior Living, an assisted living and memory care community on a 6.6-acre property in suburban Nashville, Tennessee, that recently opened.
The property includes 72 assisted living apartments and 28 memory care units. The community features second-story rooftop decks, a screened porch with dining patio and fire pit. Inside, the building features a modern farmhouse aesthetic with beamed ceilings and rustic brick.
The property was a partnership between Meridian Realty Advisors, Pi Architects, SCI Construction, Thomas & Hutton, TDI Engineering and MEP Associates Design Group.
