Baptist Senior Services names new CEO amid rebrand
Pittsburgh-based Baptist Senior Services, now Baptist Senior Family, announced Timothy Myers will serve as President and CEO, replacing Alvin Allison Jr., who will retire at the end of this year.
Myers was most recently CFO at Ingleside, a DC-area seniors housing parent company that oversees six senior services entities.
The company announced the leadership transition in conjunction with its re-brand.
The new brand will better portray the company’s mission, according to Allison, who was president and CEO for 11 years.
Baptist Senior Family is a non-profit cooperative effort that includes 90 American Baptist churches in Western Pennsylvania.
“I’m thrilled that Tim [Myeres] is entering this role at such an exciting time of growth and change,” Allison said in a statement.
Masterpiece taps new CEO
Eloy Lopez will replace Larry Landry as CEO of Denver-based Masterpiece Living.
Landry brought Lopez to Masterpiece as COO about two years ago with the intention of naming him to CEO in time.
Prior to his time at Masterpiece, Lopez was founder, president, and COO of digital music company Beatport, which grew from $2.2 million in 2006 to more than $20 million in 2008. He then moved to a company called Digitally Imported where, as COO, he accelerated revenue by 490% and increased paid subscribers by 257%.
“Eloy was brought in to take Masterpiece to the next level,” said Landry.
Landry, who founded the company in 1999, will be stepping down this year.
Confluent adds board members
John H. Myers and Robert Ezer will join the Denver-based real estate investment firm Confluent Development as board members.
Myers will serve on the board of directors while Ezer will join the advisory board, according to a statement.
Myers is director of investment committee and managing partner of Forstmann & Company, which is a bank that identifies and invests in companies that participate in large magnitudes of change. Myers spent nearly four decades at GE before he retired as president and CEO of GE Asset Management where he was responsible for about $200 billion in assets.
Ezer is CIO of Candian senior lifestyles company, Amica Senior Lifestyles, where he leads a team in investing and developing Amica’s pipeline. Twenty-seven of Ezer’s 30 years of experience have been spent in the senior living industry. He currently sits on various other boards including the executive board of the American Seniors Housing Association.
Priya Living gets new top marketer
Dan Hutson will be the new head of marketing for Priya Living beginning January 1.
Hutson is leaving Claiborne Senior Living where he served as vice president of marketing, he announced via LinkedIn.
He also spent time as the chief strategy officer at the non-profit provider HumanGood.
Priya, based in the Bay Area of California, is in the process of bringing its independent living model to new markets, through a partnership with Welltower (NYSE: WELL).
“If you think about it as we do, true luxury is experience,” Priya Founder and CEO Arun Paul said during a recent appearance on SHN+ TALKS. “It’s, does a place get you to think and feel differently? It’s not thread count. It’s not the stone that you’re using in the countertop.”
The Ridge Senior Living names new CEO, move to self-management
Utah-based Ridge Senior Living announced that Mandy Hampton will be its new CEO effective immediately.
Hampton joined The Ridge in 2017 as COO after nearly two decades in senior living. She oversaw the recent expansion of The Ridge into Colorado where it recently opened a 371-unit luxury community.
The move comes with other company changes including a move to self-management, a change that will provide the company with full autonomy.
The Ridge also added a number of vice presidents including Suzanne Foley as VP of human resources, Diane Macheers as VP of corporate communications, and Penelope Stoddard as VP of clinical services.
New VP of philanthropy named at Lifespace Communities
Iowa-based Lifespace Communities announced Nancy Wolff as vice president of philanthropy.
While at her previous role with the American Heart Association, Wolff helped raise more than $600 million in annual private contributions and brought the AHA to the number two health charity in the U.S.
At Lifespace, Wolff will oversee all fundraising activities for the Lifespace Foundation which is the charitable arm of Lifespace Communities.
Wolff will be based in Lifespace’s Dallas office.
Heritage’s Jungman joins OneDay
OneDay, a video storytelling platform, appointed Lacy Jungman as vice president of strategic development.
Jungman has worked in senior living for 15 years with roles in occupancy revenue, sales strategy, brand management, marketing, and other areas.
Most recently she was vice president of sales and marketing at Heritage Communities, which owns and operates communities in Arizona, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas.
Claiborne adds three to management team
Hattiesburg, Mississippi-based Claiborne Senior Living announced Candy Cure, Teresa Hamlett, and Randall Wilson will join its community management team.
Cure, who served as executive director at Harmony Senior Services, will serve the same role at the Clairborne at Brickyard Crossing in Summerville, South Carolina.
Hamlett will join Cure at the Brickyard community and will take over as community relations director.
Meanwhile, Wilson takes over as executive director at The Claiborne at McComb in MaComb, Mississippi.
Lipton joins Artemis Real Estate’s healthcare team
Artemis Real Estate Partners has hired Serena Lipton as an associate, healthcare asset management.
Lipton will focus on seniors housing and support asset management across the health care platform.
Washington, D.C.-based Artemis makes equity and debt investments in real estate across the United States in various asset classes. The firm has partnered with senior living operators such as MorningStar and Silverado.
Previously, Lipton was an analyst focused on senior housing with JLL, and also worked in a senior housing valuation advisory role with CBRE.
Lipton helped develop the senior living graduate program in the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration and is currently among the first cohort of students.
A new EVP for United Church Homes
Marion, Ohio-based United Church Homes has named Michael Hughes as its new executive vice president and chief transformation and innovation officer.
The role, which is newly created, includes leading digital product and service line development, managing major changes, and driving important partnerships.
Hughes was most recently principal of Mitchell-Lowery where he worked with organizations at the intersection of aging, technology, and health, according to a statement.
Jerry Warshaw is Lenbrook’s new board chair
Atlanta-based Lenbrook Square Foundation tapped Jerry Warshaw to be the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Warshaw is the Founder and President of Warshaw Properties, which is a real estate development and management firm in Atlanta.
His career includes leadership positions at organizations like the Georgia Real Estate Commission, the Georgia Apartment Association, and the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management.
EPOCH gets new executive director
Bridges by EPOCH at Sudbury, a memory care assisted living community, named Christine Brooks as Executive Director.
Brooks has spent time on several area Alzheimer’s and senior services committees. She is also a Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Director of Assisted Living with more than 23 years of experience in healthcare.
