American House, MHT Housing Developing Michigan Community

American House Senior Living Communities, the affiliated company of national real estate development and investment firm Redico; and non-profit affordable housing developer MHT Housing are collaborating on a new senior living project in Bloomfield, Michigan.

The 150-unit independent living community, American House Village at Bloomfield, is planned in the Village at Bloomfield, a mixed-use development. Amenities are planned to include restaurant-style dining, a salon, fitness and wellness center, game lounge and an activities center.

Belmont Village, Baptist Health South Florida Community Underway

Construction is underway on a new senior living community from Belmont Village Senior Living and Baptist Health South Florida.

The 10-story senior living community is planned to have 232 apartments and amenities including multiple dining venues, an outdoor terrace, group fitness room, putting green, resort-style pool, two screening rooms, an artist studio, beauty salon, soundproof music room, dog park, and a conference room. The community also will include ground-floor retail space and a health and wellness center from Baptist Health.

Project partners include Corwil Architects and Moss Construction Management. The community is slated for completion in 2023.

New Perspective Starts Construction in Minnesota

A community from New Perspective is coming together in Arden Hills, Minnesota.

The 146-unit project includes a dance hall, salon and spa, warm-water therapy pool, rehab and fitness gym, restaurant-style dining venues, library, activity centers and game rooms, neighborhood living room areas, underground parking, outdoor green spaces and walking areas.

New Perspective’s Arden Hills community is set to open in early 2023. It is co-developed by Boldt and New Perspective, with New Perspective managing it.

Trilogy, DMK Break Ground in Kentucky

Trilogy Management Services and DMK Development Group are partnering on a new senior living community in Owensboro, Kentucky.

DMK Development Group has already secured nearly 5 acres of land for the project, and construction is now underway.

The 115-unit community is designed with amenities such as multiple dining venues, an activity room, a beauty and barber salon, library, theater room, sunrooms, a fitness center, a putting green and gardens.

Construction for Wisconsin Senior Living Project Now Underway

A new senior living community from owner, operator, and developer The Waters Senior Living is coming together in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

The community, The Waters of Pewaukee, is planned to have 161 dwellings for residents spread across a three-story apartment complex and attached memory care neighborhood as well as twin independent living cottages with a yard, garage and deck.

Construction on the community began in May under the direction of general contractor Continental Building. If all goes according to plan, residents will move into the community in early 2023.

Evergreen Plans Indiana Assisted Living Community for Low-Income Residents

Evergreen Real Estate Group has secured financing and started preliminary site work on a 120-unit assisted living community for low-income seniors in Goshen, Indiana.

Amenities for the project, Green Oaks of Goshen, include a community room with a kitchen, media and theater room, computer room, meeting room, fitness center, beauty salon, library, community garden and an outdoor area with a pond, courtyard and pavilion.

The $30 million project is planned as a licensed and regulated residential care facility under the Indiana Department of Health, and the planners will seek approval for Medicaid waivers through the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration.

Gardant Management Solutions is on tap to manage the community. Evergreen Construction Company, a division of Evergreen Real Estate Group, is working as the project’s general contractor, with a groundbreaking set for Oct. 28 and first occupancy slated for early 2023.

Autumn Leaves Previews Renovations for Newly Managed Community

Autumn Leaves has assumed management of a community formerly known as Willowbrook of Savoy in Savoy, Illinois.

The community is currently previewing remodeled memory care cottages with open-concept living and kitchen areas.

Newbridge Breaks Ground on Missouri Project

Newbridge Properties started construction for a new senior living community in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

The project, dubbed the Newbridge Retirement Community, is planned to have 82 units and amenities such as a library, multiple dining and beverage venues, salon and spa, fitness room, art and gardening areas, outdoor courtyards and walking trails and a therapy room.

Vessel Architecture is the project’s architect, while Impact Strategies is working as construction manager. Work is expected to wrap up near the end of 2022.

Silverstone Opens D.C.-Area Assisted Living Community

Silverstone Senior Living’s two senior living communities in the greater Washington, D.C. markets of Rockville, Maryland; and Fairfax, Virginia have now opened their doors to residents.

In Rockville, the company opened The Seneca, a $76 million, 146-unit assisted living and memory care community. The first residents moved into the community in August. The Seneca joins nearby 154-unit Silverstone community The Providence, which opened in March.

Amenities at both communities include multiple dining venues, outdoor spaces, a wellness center, salon and day spa. Watermark Retirement Communities operates both communities.

LGBTQ Senior Housing Complex Opens in Los Angeles

A 98-unit community for low-income and unhoused older adults has opened in Los Angeles.

The community, called the Ariadne Getty Foundation Senior Housing Complex, is slated to have 72 units set aside for low-income older adults, with the rest intended for chronically unhoused older adults.

Studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments for residents carry rents of up to $1,175 per month, and have access to a community dining room, activity rooms, and counseling offices.

The senior housing community is adjacent to the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Anita May Rosenstein Campus, and residents can access programs centered on HIV+ wellness, gender identity and LGBTQ social and cultural support.

Leong Leong was design architect on the first phase of the Anita May Rosenstein Center Campus, and KFA worked both as design and executive architects for that project and for the adjacent senior housing complex

CHA Partners Opens New Jersey Community

CHA Partners recently held a grand opening for Livia East Hanover, a 100,000 square-foot community in East Hanover, New Jersey, with 86 long-term care beds and 37 beds for assisted living and memory care.

Amenities for residents include a theater; game room; bar and lounge; salon and barber ship with spa services and aromatherapy; and a cafe.
