LifeSpire of Virginia Hires New COO

LifeSpire of Virginia has selected Tracey Jennings as the organization’s new COO.

In her new role, which is effective Nov. 30, Jennings will manage day-to-day operations of the five LifeSpire communities while also handling operating budgets, policies and procedures and major vendor relationships.

Jennings has more than 20 years of leadership experience in senior living and health care, and most recently worked for Centra Health. She also previously worked as COO of Bedford Memorial Hospital.

CarDon Names New CEO

CarDon & Associates has announced the appointment of Kent Rodgers as the company’s new president and CEO. He started his new role on Oct. 4.

Rodgers succeeds Dr. Stephen Moore, who had served as CEO since 2000 and will now work on the company’s board of directors and executive committee.

Rodgers first joined CarDon as CFO in 2006.

Saint Therese Appoints COO

Saint Therese has appointed Lisa Kalla as the nonprofit’s new COO.

In her new role, Kalla will have responsibility for the organization’s daily operations. Kalla joined Saint Therese in 2021, when she started working as executive director at Saint Therese of New Hope in New Hope, Minnesota.

Kalla previously worked as associate vice president of healthcare with Covenant Living and executive director for Carondelet Village in St. Paul.

ISL Names Regional Sales and Marketing VPs

Integral Senior Living (ISL) recently promoted Heather Haley and Tina Schachter to the role of regional vice president of sales and marketing.

Haley in her new role is responsible for managing the company’s customer relationship management tools and other vendor relationships. She also is tasked with leading the company’s social media and branding efforts and overseeing marketing for communities in Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Utah and Georgia.

Schachter is responsible for leading and training community teams throughout the U.S. and helping to plan and stage large-scale events at ISL communities.

Schacter first joined ISL in 2019, while Haley joined the company in 2016.

Cadence Living Appoints VP of Health and Wellness, Bolsters Corporate Team

Cadence Living has named Alan Graza to the role of vice president of health and wellness; Christmas Brown to the role of director of leave and compliance; and Mark Buckley as facilities specialist.

Graza comes to the operator after working in regional health services positions for both Oakmont Senior Living and Westmont Senior Living.

As director of leave and compliance, Brown’s role involves performing risk management for the operator’s portfolio, including licensing compliance, worker’s compensation, leave policy and policy review. She previously worked for Frontier Management.

And Buckley is returning to Cadence as facilities specialist. He previously worked for the operator in facilities management at a community in California. He comes to the operator after a stint with MBK Senior Living.

Presbyterian Senior Living Announces New VPs of Purposeful Living, Technology, Operations

Presbyterian Senior Living (PSL) has promoted three employees to new roles: Alicia Fenstermacher to vice president of purposeful living; Bruce Shearer to vice president of technology; and Bob Etchells to regional vice president of operations.

As VP of purposeful living, Fenstermacher is responsible for quality of life of residents and staff and that stakeholders can weigh in on program development and evaluation. She has worked with PSL for more than 16 years.

Shearer will lead development of PSL’s technology strategy and systems in coordination, and ensure it aligns with the organization’s overall goals and plans. He also will work as the organization’s chief information security officer. He most recently held the title of corporate director of technology.

As regional VP of operations, Etchells is responsible for the implementation of PSL’s nursing, CCRC, HCBS and assisted living/personal care strategies. He has spent more than 30 years in the health care industry.

Springpoint Communities Welcome New Leaders

Springpoint has named Melissa Dominguez as director of nursing at Springpoint Living at Manalapan, a community slated to open by the end of this year in Manalapan, New Jersey.

As director of nursing, Dominguez is responsible for supervising the nursing staff, clinical oversight, education, patient care and administrative functions.

The company also appointed Roy David as the new assistant executive director/Administrator of The Oaks at Denville, a life plan community in Denville, New Jersey. He is tasked with overseeing the community’s assisted living and skilled nursing wings.

He has more than 15 years of experience in senior health care, and previously worked as administrator at the campus in 2006.

The Springs Living Names Director of Quality and Special Projects

The Springs Living has named Ashley Schulze to the role of director of quality and special projects.

In her new role, Schulze is overseeing community openings and stabilization, quality site visits, systems development and operations technology optimization.

Schulze was previously executive director of The Springs at Greer Gardens in Eugene, Oregon.

Koelsch Communities Names New Leaders at Two Texas Communities

Koelsch Communities has appointed Quentin Zambeck as the executive director at Riverside Inn in Fort Worth, Texas; and Jamie Althaus as executive director of Meadowbrook Memory Care.

Both leaders will oversee daily operations of their communities. Althaus is taking over for Zambeck, who previously worked as executive director at Meadowbrook.

Erickson Senior Living Names Continuing Care Director at Maryland CCRC

Eric Grimmel is now director of continuing care at Oak Crest, an Erickson Senior Living continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Parkville, Maryland.

Grimmel will now oversee daily clinical services and maintain quality of care. He has more than 15 years of experience in senior living.

The company also appointed Kate Van Atta as director of human resources at Windsor Run, a CCRC in Charlotte, North Carolina. In her new role, she will oversee the community’s daily human resources operations and focus on employee recruitment and engagement.

Anthem Names Community Relations Director, Executive Director in Illinois, Colorado

Anthem Memory Care has named Jennifer Davidson as executive director of Chelsea, an Anthem Memory Care community in Aurora, Colorado; Allison Rackow as community relations director for Emerald Place in Glenview, Illinois; and Adrianne Brouckaert as community relations director for Vineyard Place in Murrieta, California.

In her new role, Davidson will oversee daily care, programming and operations; while Rackow and Brouckaert will be responsible for community outreach and marketing.

Rackow has spent about nine years in the senior living industry and Brouckaert has worked in it for about 10 years. Davidson has worked in the industry for roughly two decades.

WellAge Names Sales and Marketing Director for Colorado Community

WellAge has named Laura Hale as director of sales and marketing at Jackson Creek Senior Living, a senior living community it manages in Monument, Colorado.

She previously worked at Jackson Creek as a move-in coordinator and sales associate, and started her career in senior living about nine years ago.

Mission Senior Living Hires Sales and Marketing Director for New Mexico Community

Mission Senior Living has appointed Jessica Sharer as director of sales and marketing at Three Rivers Estates Senior Living and Memory Care, a community in Farmington, New Mexico, that is scheduled to open in 2022.

In her new role, Sharer will lead marketing, sales and community outreach and help older adults and their loved ones make informed decisions about their senior living options.

Sharer previously worked as a branch manager for Wells Fargo.

Bellwether Hires SVP of Senior Housing and Care

Bellwether Enterprise has hired Kim Huffstutler as senior vice president of seniors housing and care.

In her new role, Huffstutler will be responsible for debt and equity placements for the firm’s national senior housing group. She brings to the role more than 12 years of commercial mortgage banking experience.

Capital Funding Group Names Leaders for Multifamily and Seniors Housing Real Estate Financing

Capital Funding Group promoted Erik Howard to the role of executive managing director of business development and marketing. In his new role, he will help manage the company’s new multifamily and seniors housing real estate financing divisions.

The organization also appointed Ken Assiran to lead its seniors housing lending platform; hired Elizabeth Buckalew to head its multifamily efforts; and promoted Craig Casagrande and Tim Eberhardt as co-heads of its long-term care business development group.

McAlpine Contracting Names Director of Construction

McAlpine Contracting, a general contracting and construction management firm specializing in senior living communities, has promoted Mark Montalvo to director of construction. He previously worked as senior project manager.

In his new role, Montalvo is tasked with overseeing the company’s Northeast projects, with responsibilities including managing estimating and bids, project logistics, construction activities, and closeouts. He also will supervise site personnel and interact with clients.
