Solar Panels Coming to Maryland Community
Carroll Lutheran Village, a Lutheran Social Ministries of Maryland CCRC in Westminster, Maryland, is adding LED lighting and solar panels.
Under the first phase of the ongoing project, the community added LED lighting and energy- efficient features by replacing nearly 2,000 bulbs, fixtures and lamps; and 205 lighting control sensors that detect motion and daylight.
The community also recently won permits to install 403 solar energy panels on the roof of apartment buildings. Solar Energy Services and Mission Energy is installing the panels.

Oppidan Breaks Ground on Minnesota Intergenerational Community
Oppidan Investment Company has broken ground on a new senior living community in Lakeville, Minnesota.
The independent living, assisted living and memory care community, The Pillars of Lakeville, is set to include 100 apartments and amenities such as a fitness center, salon, pickleball court, sky lounge, parlor and pub.
The community also will be physically connected via an internal hallway to Crossroads Church, Christian Heritage Academy and Four Square Childcare. Ebenezer Management Services is slated to manage the community and provide intergenerational programming.
Workers are expected to finish the project in the spring of 2023.
Work Underway for New Hampshire Life Plan Community
Edgewood Senior Solutions Group of Massachusetts has broken ground on The Baldwin, a life plan community slated to open in Londonderry, New Hampshire.
Plans for the community call for 190 apartments and a fitness center, indoor pool, and hot tub; multiple dining venues; art studio and gallery; woodworking shop; library and classrooms; and underground parking. Several amenities, such as the spa and dining venues, will be open to the public.
If all goes according to plan, the community will open its doors in the summer of 2023.
RLC Plans Community Groundbreaking in Arkansas
Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) on Oct. 21 is set to break ground on Pinnacle Springs, a $30 million senior living community in Rogers, Arkansas.
The community is planned to have amenities such as an in-house bank, pharmacy, gift shop, and salon, all of which will be open to the public.

Three Frontier Management Management Communities Now Open
Frontier Management has opened three communities and broken ground on two more as part of its continued national expansion.
In Spring, Texas, the company opened The Landing at Augusta Woods, a 120-unit assisted living community with multiple dining venues, a market, bar and lounge, three fitness centers and a heated saltwater pool. Project partners included Regent Construction, Jeffrey DeMure & Associates Architecture, SJL Interiors, Roderick Family and 4J Construction Services.
In San Dimas, California, Frontier opened The Terraces at Via Verde, a memory care community. Greg Irwin Architecture and Thoma-Holec Design were project partners on the community.
And in the Los Angeles suburb of Woodland Hills, Frontier opened The Preserve at Woodland Hills, an assisted living and memory care community.
Frontier also announced groundbreakings for two communities.
In Meridian, Mississippi, the operator opened The Preserve at Meridian, a 98-unit assisted living and memory care community. Project partners included Arrive Architecture, Banko Design and Heritage Construction.
And in St. Augustine, Florida, the company opened The Greens at St. Johns, a 100-apartment assisted living and memory care community with multiple spaces for dining, a swimming pool and other amenities.
Frontier also has two communities under development in Garland, Texas; and Antioch, Tennessee.
Work Complete on Sunrise Community in Massachusetts
Construction has wrapped up on Sunrise of Newton, a new assisted living and memory care community in Newton, Massachusetts.
Sunrise Senior Living is slated to manage the community, which has 85 suites and amenities such as a bistro, underground parking and outdoor space.
JSA Design was the project’s architect.
National Church Residences Rehabs Affordable Senior Housing Community in Texas
National Church Residences has announced the completion of a $3.6 million renovation project at Mid-Tule Village, an affordable senior housing community in Tulia, Texas.
As part of the renovation project, workers updated apartments with new kitchen cabinets, countertops and appliances; new bathrooms; and new flooring and window treatments. The work also included new sidewalks at the community.
Alliance provided architectural services for the project, and FTK Construction handled construction services.
