LSU Health Foundation Plans Senior Living Community Near New Orleans

The Louisiana State University (LSU) Health Foundation plans to open a new senior living development on a waterfront site just north of New Orleans.

Plans call for a $150 million development that will include restaurants, a marina, a hotel, active adult apartments and healthcare services provided by the LSU Health Sciences Center. The project was made possible by a 29-acre land donation from the Al Copeland Family.

The project will be the first university-affiliated retirement community in the state of Louisiana, according to the LSU Health Foundation.

United Church Homes Buys Community in Ohio, Plans Fall Opening

United Church Homes has acquired The Polaris Retirement Community from Polaris Retirement Living Properties.

The 136-unit community in Columbus, Ohio, was developed in collaboration with Graziano Construction and Development and Sweetbay Senior Living. United Church Homes is currently putting finishing touches on the community’s apartments and common areas with a planned move-in date for residents later this year in the fall.
