Milwaukee Life Plan Community Launches Capital Improvement

A life plan community in Milwaukee is planning a multi-million dollar renovation project.

The community, Eastcastle Place, is adding new independent living apartments and changing the size of its health care wing. The work also includes enhancements to common areas such as the community’s dining room and fitness and aquatic center; and the addition of a bar and lounge, creativity center and more amenity space

Eastcastle Place is also with the project eliminating its rental contracts and shifting exclusively to an entrance-fee payment model.

LCS Development is managing the project, which is due to break ground in 2022.

Alliance Breaks Ground on Community in Portland

Alliance Residential started construction this month on a senior living community in Portland, Oregon.

The 237-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community is a 16-story tower in Portland’s downtown Pearl District. The community’s amenities include multiple eateries, a yoga studio, salon, activity areas, family gathering spaces, terraced courtyards, rooftop dining, water features, herb garden and a covered pet area.

Milestone Retirement Communities is set to manage the community when it opens.

Work Starts for Clearwater Community Near Los Angeles

General contractor R.D. Olson Construction has broken ground on Vistas at Glendora, a Clearwater Senior Living project in the San Gabriel Valley area of Los Angeles County.

The 117-unit assisted living and memory care facility is slated to have multiple dining venues, a wine vault, display kitchen, barbecue station, game room, theater, activity rooms, a lounge with a bar and piano, hair salon, fitness center, art studio and four outdoor courtyards.

Clearwater Living is the project’s owner, while architecture firm AO and interior designer Klang & Associates worked on the community’s design. Construction is expected to wrap up in the fall of 2022.

Watercrest Community in South Carolina Taking Shape

Construction is progressing at Watercrest Myrtle Beach, an assisted living and memory care in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Construction firm Shiel Sexton has finished more than 65% of the work for the 98-unit community, which is scheduled to open by the end of the year. Planned amenities include multiple dining venues, a pool, salon and spa, cigar and scotch lounge, balconies and “Southern-style” outdoor living spaces. The community will have a faux-outdoor streetscape for memory care residents.

Watercrest Senior Living Group, Peninsula U.S. Real Estate and Corecam Capital Partners are all equity partners on the project.

Milestone to Open California Community in May

Milestone Retirement Communities is just days away from opening Sage Glendale, an assisted living and memory care community in Glendale, California.

The five-story community has 109 apartments with access to amenities such as a demonstration kitchen, movie theater, card and game room and an arts and crafts room.

Milestone is also getting closer to opening Sonrisa, an Alliance Residential independent living community that started construction in 2019 in Roseville, California. The community just opened an offsite information gallery and is on track to open in July.

Affordable Senior Housing Community Welcoming Residents in Georgia

General contractor Swinerton has completed an affordable community called Sycamore Heights in Jefferson, Georgia.

The 64-apartment OneStreet Residential project was designed by Foley Design Architects. Residents began moving into the community this month. Amenities include a fitness center, community room with bistro, multi-purpose room, wraparound porch and other common spaces.
