Watermark Plans Texas Community With Chef-Driven Restaurants

Watermark Retirement Communities has announced plans for The Hacienda at Georgetown, a senior living community slated to open in Georgetown, Texas. The project is part of the company’s Elan Collection portfolio of upscale communities.

As planned, the community will have 230 residences and four restaurants from culinary advsior chef Stephan Pyles, who is referred to as a “founding father” of Southwestern and Texas cuisine. That includes a restaurant and bar open to the public.

Other amenities include a specially designed outdoor amphitheater and a fully equipped wellness center with a salon, spa, club rooms, fitness center, theater, meditation garden and a resort-like pool with cabanas.

In addition to Watermark Retirement Communities, other project partners include MedCore Partners and The National Realty Group. REES Associates and Studio Six5 are working together on the community’s design, while ACRON USA is providing equity for the project.

If all goes according to plan, the community will open in 2022.

Avenida Partners to Develop Active Adult Community in Colorado Development

Avenida Partners has announced plans to develop an active adult community within real estate investment and development firm McWhinney’s Centerra master-planned development in Loveland, Colorado.

The planned community, Avenida Loveland, is slated to have 154 rental apartment homes with one- and two-bedroom floorplans equipped with designer flooring, quartz countertops, walk-in closets, step-in showers and private patios and balconies.

The community’s amenities include multiple dining venues, a theater, fitness center and yoga studio, creative arts studio, space for aerobics and separate spa, a pickleball court, picnic area, outdoor entertainment areas with grilling and dining spaces, a dog run and an observation terrace. Residents also will get daily continental breakfasts and enrichment programming.

Workers are set to break ground on the community later this month, with an opening date in 2022. Other project partners include Brinkman Construction and Element Architects.

LCS Makes Progress on Expansion at Florida Community

LCS has reached a construction milestone at a $160 million expansion project the company is undertaking at its Sinai Residences community in Boca Raton, Florida.

Workers recently completed the top floor of the Toby and Leon Cooperman Sinai Residences of Boca Raton, an expansion project that is set to add to the community 111 independent living residences and new communal areas. The project is also slated to add two themed dining venues, a cocktail lounge, a multi-purpose room, movie theater and a pool with indoor and outdoor dining options. The work will also include renovations for the community’s fitness center and spa.

As part of the project, LCS Development coordinated planning, development, the sales process, and provided oversight of the expansion’s design and construction services. LCS Development also assisted with financing.

Other project partners included HJ Sims, which worked to close the bond financing; LEO A DALY as architect The Whiting-Turner Contracting as general contractor and WGI, Inc. as civil engineer/land planner.

New York Community Plans Memory Care Expansion

United Hebrew of New Rochelle in New Rochelle, New York, is expanding its memory care facility.

The project will add 16 new garden-level apartments, with construction expected to be completed by January 2022. The expansion will grow the community’s capacity to 69 residents, and add new amenities such as a secure outdoor garden area, activity room, living and lounge area, and a new kitchen.

Senior Living Community Coming Together in Georgia Development

Work is progressing for The Lodge at Stephens Lake, a senior living community under construction in a larger master-planned development in Jasper, Georgia.

As planned, the community is slated to have 156 independent and assisted living apartments alongside 106 craftsman-style homes for sale. Amenities include a 4,000 square foot clubhouse, pool and pickleball courts.

Thrive Opens Welcome Center for Forthcoming New Jersey Community

Thrive Senior Living has opened a welcome center for its forthcoming Thrive at Montvale community in Montvale, New Jersey.

The community is currently under construction and slated to open next year. When it opens, the community is planned to have 203 apartments along with amenities such as a beauty salon and barber shop, athlete center, playground yoga and relaxation center and an outdoor bar.

Alliance Community On Track to Open By July in Washington

Holden Southcenter, an assisted living and memory care community under construction in Tukwila, Washington, has opened a welcome center, and is on track to open by July.

Alliance Residential has tapped Milestone Retirement Communities to manage the 138-apartment community.

Sundt Construction Finishes Renovations at California Community

Sundt Construction has wrapped up a renovation project at Elegance Hamilton Hill, an assisted living and memory care community in Novato, California.

The community, which is located on the site of a former airfield used during World War II, has 80 residences. The addition added 56,533 square feet of space and helped preserve the community’s Spanish-style architecture.

Residents are slated to move into the community later this spring.
