Phoenix Senior Living Starts Work on Georgia Community

Phoenix Senior Living recently broke ground on a new community in Dallas, Georgia.

The community, Phoenix at Dallas, is slated to have 56 independent living units, and is adjacent to a Phoenix Senior Living memory care community. Planned amenities include a a swimming pool and cabana, walking trails, oversized checkers and chess boards, a bocce court and landscaped outdoor space.

The project is scheduled for completion in March, 2022.

Confluent, Morningstar, Concord Break Ground on California Community

Confluent Senior Living, Concord Development Partners and MorningStar Senior Living have announced the groundbreaking of a new senior living community in Mission Viejo, California.

The community, MorningStar of Mission Viejo, is planned to have 132 units in studio, one- and two-bedroom styles, with amenities such as an outdoor pool, dog park, community garden, outdoor dining area, spa and wellness center and infection control design measures that include needlepoint bipolar ionization HVAC systems, antimicrobial surfaces and touchless devices.

The groundbreaking represents Confluent Senior Living’s first community in California. This is also MorningStar’s third community in the Golden State. If all goes according to plan, the community will open in 2023.

Acts Announces Renovations at Two Communities

Acts Retirement-Life Communities is expanding two of its senior living communities located in Delaware and New Jersey.

In Wilmington, Delaware, the company is expanding its community, Country House, to include 20 new cottages, 62 independent living units and a new clubhouse with multiple dining venues, a performance center and a fitness and aquatic center. The project costs $78 million and will be completed in phases, with a completion date in 2022.

And in New Jersey, Acts is expanding The Evergreens with upgrades to common areas and a new clubhouse with multiple dining venues, a coffee shop, library, wellness center, hair salon and space for rehab. Construction is expected to wrap up in 2022.

Virginia Community Starts $56.5M Renovation Project

The Virginian, a senior living community in Fairfax, Virginia, has broken ground on a new $56.5 million renovation project.

During the planned 18-month renovation, workers will “reimagine” the seven-story community. The finished project will include four wings containing 249 independent living, assisted living and memory care units, and amenities such as multiple dining venues, a wine cellar, sports bar, indoor golf simulator, theater, entertainment venues, salons, pickleball, bocce ball, a putting green and dog park.

Transforming Age to Expand Nebraska Community

Transforming Age is less than a month away from breaking ground on an expansion of its Eastmont continuing care retirement community (CCRC) in Lincoln, Nebraska. The work will kick off with a virtual groundbreaking ceremony on April 14.

The project includes 50 apartment homes in a new senior living tower, and new amenities such as a pool and fitness center, performing arts center, a bistro, outdoor gathering spaces, porte-cochere and a new entrance.

The expansion is slated to open in late 2022 and is currently more than 50% presold, according to the organization.

Larken Community in New Jersey Hits 95% Pre-Leases

Autumn Ridge, an apartment community from Larken Associates in Lopatcong, New Jersey, is now 95% presold.

The 198-unit community includes a standalone building called Horizons at Autumn Ridge reserved for 55+ residents with 50 units of active adult housing. Amenities inside the age-restricted building include a heated private pool, mailroom with a package concierge system, game area with card tables, reading area, conference room, private gym, lounge with dry bar and elevator lounges on each floor.

Workers are slated to wrap up construction on the project in the spring.

Thrive to Open Welcome Center at New Jersey Community

Thrive Senior Living is slated to hold a grand opening celebration for a new welcome center at Thrive at Montvale in Montvale, New Jersey.

The three-story community is slated to include 203 apartments in independent living and assisted living, and in a small-house memory care model. Planned amenities include a playground and playscape, coffee shop, salon and a fitness center.

Oakmont Opens California Community

Oakmont Senior Living has opened Oakmont of Fullerton, a new senior living community in Fullerton, California.

The community includes 101 apartment homes, multiple dining venues and other amenities such as a library, movie theater, fitness center, day spa with massage room, game rooms, a putting green, bocce ball court, resident garden beds and walking paths.

Capitol Seniors Housing Opens New York Community

Capitol Seniors Housing has opened a new community in Plainview, New York.

Chelsea Senior Living is operating the 114-suite community, which is called The Residences at Plainview. The community includes amenities such as indoor and outdoor swimming pools, putting green, sauna, exercise facilities, a bistro, sports bar, movie theater, art studio, salon, and barber shop.

Meyer Senior Living Studio handled the amenities and interiors, while EW Howell Construction Group led the construction.

Florida Community Gets Certificate of Occupancy

Autumn Senior Living, Cleveland Construction and Small Brothers have announced that they have completed construction on a new 90-unit community in Clearwater, Florida, and have just received a certificate of occupancy for its first phase.

Construction on the 65,000-square-foot community, Aravilla Clearwater, wrapped after 18 months on Jan. 29.

The project’s second phase will include a three-story, assisted living building with a connection to the community’s memory care wing. Amenities for the finished project include entertainment and dining areas, indoor and outdoor gathering places, a therapy pool, an outdoor garden and water features.

Silverado Opens California Memory Care Community

Silverado on March 29 will officially open a new memory care community in Thousand Oaks, California.

The community has room for 82 residents living with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, and includes memory care-friendly design features such as skylights and sunrooms, Eversound technology and open living areas.

North Carolina CCRC Completes Renovations

Grace Ridge, a CCRC in Morganton, North Carolina, has completed a major renovation project.

Workers added a new outdoor patio space, and also revamped and modernized 5,000 square feet of space inside the community. Grace Ridge now has new flooring, custom furniture, and an updated cafe, beauty salon, clinic area and wellness office.

Grace Ridge worked with Frank L. Blum Construction and Steele Group Architects on the renovation project, while ID Collaborative designed the community’s interior.

— A developer seeks to reposition a 129-unit assisted living community in Atlanta.

— Plans are in motion to build a 200-unit senior housing community in Los Angeles.
