United Properties Plans Senior Cooperative Project Near Denver
United Properties is planning to open a senior cooperative community in Westminster, Colorado.
The community Applewood Pointe of Westminster, is planned to include 85 homes with an average size of about 1,500 square feet. Amenities are set to include a great room, library, club and game room, fitness center, guest suites, woodworking shop, craft room and an underground garage with a bay for washing cars. Residents also will have access to spacious outdoor living spaces.
The residents themselves will collectively own the cooperative, which operate independently under their own board of directors. United Properties has 15 Applewood Pointe senior cooperative communities in Minnesota.
If all goes according to plan, workers will break ground on the project next summer, with an anticipated completion date in late 2023.
Ryan Cos, Great Lakes Project in Minnesota Moves Forward
Local officials in Woodbury, Minnesota, have approved plans for a senior living community from Ryan Companies and Great Lakes Management.
Plans for the community, Talamore Woodbury, to have 200 units for independent living, assisted living and memory care. Amenities include multiple dining venues, a library, wellness and telehealth center, fitness areas, spa and salon, club room, activity room and a large gathering space.
Workers are expected to break ground on the project by the middle of this year. Ryan Companies is developing, designing and building Talamore Woodbury, and Great Lakes is slated to manage it. This is the two companies’ third Talamore senior living community together.

Frontier Makes Progress on Four Communities Under Construction
Frontier Management is making progress on four communities under construction in California, Texas and Mississippi.
In San Dimas, California, the company is moving ahead with Terraces at Via Verde, a memory care community with space for up to 60 residents. Plans call for a variety of amenities, such as Spark life enrichment programming and dining venues with chef-prepared meals. The community is currently slated to open later this year in the spring.
Meanwhile, in Woodland Hills, California, Frontier is moving ahead with construction on The Preserve at Woodland Hills, a community with space for up to 60-residents. Amenities include Frontier’s Spark life enrichment programming, wellness monitoring technology and air filtration systems. The community is slated to open in the summer.
In Spring, Texas, Frontier is building The Landing at Augusta Woods Senior Living. The community is planned to have 120 apartment homes, five dining venues, three fitness centers, a heated saltwater swimming pool and spa, a market and a theater. The community is slated to open in the spring.
And in Meridian, Mississippi, the provider is moving ahead with The Preserve at Meridian Senior Living, a community that is set on a 20-acre plot of land, and planned to include 93 apartment homes. The community is slated to open in the fall.
Work Moves Ahead for Watercrest Community in Georgia
Construction is moving along as planned at Watercrest Macon, an assisted living and memory care community in Macon, Georgia.
Contractor EMJ Corporation is about 70% through construction of the 98-unit senior living community. Amenities include a promenade, fireplace, signature water wall, pool, salon and spa, cigar and scotch lounge, multiple dining venues, and outdoor living spaces.
Project partners include Watercrest Senior Living Group and equity partners Peninsula U.S. Real Estate and Corecam Capital Partners. The community is currently scheduled to welcome residents later this year in the summer.

Silverstone Community Managed by Watermark Now Open in Virginia
A community designed and developed by Silverstone Senior Living and operated by Watermark Retirement Communities, is now open in Fairfax, Virginia.
The community, called The Providence, includes access to assisted living and memory care services and amenities such as multiple restaurants, a day spa and continuing education programming. The community also has infection control features such as an enhanced filtration and HVAC system, bi-polar ionization and technology with touchless controls.
Discovery to Hold Grand Opening Event for Florida Community
Discovery Senior Living is scheduled to hold a grand opening ceremony on March 6 for a community in Naples, Florida.
The community, Discovery Village At Naples, first opened and welcomed its first residents in June 2020. Amenities include multiple food venues, such as an ice cream bar and bistro; a zero-entry heated pool with cabanas; a golf practice area; movie theater; salon and spa; and a fitness center.
Touchmark Community in Washington Gets Facelift
Architectural firm Spellman Brady led a full-interior renovation of Touchmark at Fairway Village, a Touchmark senior living community in Vancouver, Washington.
Renovations included work on public corridors, resident amenity spaces and operational office areas. New materials in the project’s “industrial farmhouse” design included metal sliding doors and storefronts, wooden beams, brick, stone, wrought iron, and shiplap.
Maryland Community Completes Second Construction Phase
Pennrose has opened Glenarden Hills II, the second phase of six in a master planned community in Glenarden, Maryland.
The opening added 55 affordable senior housing units to the four-story senior community that Pennrose built during the project’s first phase. Apartments come with design features such as oversized windows, modern kitchens, large closets, ceramic-tiled baths and individually controlled heating and cooling units. The project also included a wellness room and theater room.
