[Sponsored] Koelsch To Deliver Premium Senior Living Campus to Vancouver, WA in 2022

In 1979, Koelsch Communities made a name for themselves in Vancouver with the first local senior living communities—Cascade Inn, followed by The Hampton and Ashley Inn and The Hampton at Salmon Creek. And now, they’re doing it again.

More than 40 years later, Koelsch is proving that you can go home again.

Koelsch, a national leader in the Senior Living space, is on schedule to open a brand-new community in Vancouver in the winter of 2022. The 365,000 square-foot campus, University Village, will offer residents two luxurious options following Koelsch’s award-winning housing models: Signature Independent Living (IL) and Distinctive Assisted Living (AL).

At a project cost of $108 million, University Village — at 12921 NE Rockwell Drive — brings a diverse mix of housing options with 267 total units: 101 AL apartments, 140 IL apartments, and 26 IL cottages adding 100 new jobs to the Vancouver area.

“Having grown up in this area, our expansion into Vancouver is very special to me,” expressed Aaron Koelsch, President, and CEO of Koelsch Communities. “We’re overjoyed to be able to further our dedication to the seniors of Vancouver and its surrounding communities.”

The Koelsch family legacy began in southern Washington state and has grown steadily throughout the region.

University Village will offer residents an array of senior living options, including a posh suite among their friends and neighbors or a separate two-bedroom cottage with an attached garage. The intricate designs meet the Koelsch first-class standards of style and elegance. University Village residents will indulge their taste buds with multiple elaborate dining options at the Monticello Restaurant, Captain’s Table, or the Victory Bistro. Enjoy a pleasant afternoon beside a bubbling water feature in our beautiful courtyard or feel free to take refuge in the relaxing environment of our indoor aquatic oasis, all built with the Northwest in mind.

With a Billiard Room to play card games or pool, a Movie Theater to watch the latest flicks or old-time favorites, and an outdoor veranda to end chilly evenings beside a cozy fireplace, University Village will be rich with activity.

These personalized touches have become the Koelsch Communities calling card. The third generation, family-owned and -operated Koelsch, comprises 35 communities in eight states, with six new communities in development for independent living, assisted living, and memory care. For Aaron Koelsch, University Village is a continuation of his parents’ legacy, which he first experienced as a boy when the family moved into the first Koelsch Community basement in 1958.

“I grew up living a life dedicated to serving others, and our communities are known for first-class service and care,” Koelsch says. “We treat every person with dignity and respect, and we are intentional with every decision we make. We believe in the innovative programs that make aging well possible and build a strong foundation of safety with the latest security technology.”

The building project by Koelsch Communities is managed and developed by Koelsch in partnership with RJ Development. Koelsch Construction will also act as the project’s general contractor, with interior design by the principal owner and designer Judy Koelsch of JSK Design.

“Koelsch Communities has led the senior living industry for over 60 years,” Koelsch says. “We are delivering world-class customer service, home craftsmanship, and unprecedented amenities.”
