Cadence, Flournoy Start Work on Seattle Community

Cadence Living and Flournoy Development Group have broken ground on Cadence at Kent-Meridian, a 128-unit senior living community in the Seattle suburb of Kent, Washington.

As planned, the three-story community will have 128 units and a variety of amenities and perks for residents, including views of a nearby high school’s baseball field.

Sante Development Group aided the project during the site selection process, and is expected to be “integral to the development execution of the project,” according to a press release.

Cadence Living

Vitality Living Project in Mississippi On Track for 2021 Opening

Vitality Living is expanding to the state of Mississippi with a new community.

The proposed 117-unit senior living community, Landmark Lifestyles at Tupelo, is part of a larger mixed-use development in Tupelo, Mississippi. The community will be managed under Vitality’s senior living brand, Landmark Lifestyles Senior Living.

The community is set to open in phases. The project’s first phase, which is set to open in 2021 includes 23 independent living cottages with access to amenities including outdoor spaces, walking paths and a clubhouse. Construction on the community’s second phase is slated to start 2021. Plans call for 64 assisted living and 30 memory care apartments, with access to amenities such as a fire pit, library, beauty salon and fitness center.

The community is currently accepting reservations for new residents.

Bonaventure, Solvere Plan Waterfront Community in Virginia

A new senior living community is set to open near the water in Norfolk, Virginia.

The community, Aspire at East Beach, is slated to have 132 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments for active adult residents. Bonaventure is the community’s owner, and Solvere Living is slated to manage it when it opens in 2021.

Planned amenities include an indoor pool, fitness center, art studio, salon and spa, theater, library, game room and multiple dining venues. The community will also have walkways to a neary marina and beach along the Chesapeake Bay.

MedCore, TNRG Start Work on Texas Community

MedCore Partners and The National Realty Group (TNRG) have started construction on The Hacienda at Georgetown, a 230-unit senior living community in Georgetown, Texas. The planned community is located on a 13-acre tract of land adjacent to master-planned active adult development Sun City Texas.

The $85 million construction project is the first phase in a two-phase, $115 million development. The project’s second phase is planned to have 84 independent living units. Future residents will have access to multiple dining venues; a resort-style pool with cabanas; outdoor restaurant and entertainment pavilion; a wellness area with a spa, salon and a fitness center; theater, walking paths and other recreation areas. The community’s restaurant, bar, salon and spa, will be public-facing.

Watermark Retirement Communities is on board to manage the community, with financing from BOK Financial and LP Equity from ACRON USA. REES Architects designed the community, with interior design from Studio Six5 and landscape services by Pacheco Koch.

If all goes according to plan, The Hacienda at Georgetown should open in late 2022.

Resort Lifestyle Communities Plans Groundbreaking for Wisconsin Project

Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) on Nov. 5 is set to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new senior living community in Fitchburg, Wisconsin.

The $30 million community, Quarry Ridge, is set to come with one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment options. Amenities include a public-facing bank, pharmacy, general store, and salon.

The project marks RLC’s first location in Wisconsin.

Highgate Project in Arizona Gets New Information Center

Highgate Senior Living has opened an information center at its forthcoming community in Flagstaff, Arizona.

The roughly $25 million community, Highgate of Flagstaff, will have 60 suites for residents and amenities including a spa and other wellness options for residents.

$190 Million Community Opens in Colorado

The Ridge Pinehurst, a $190 million community in Lakewood, Colorado, is now welcoming residents.

The 325-unit community has amenities including indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, multiple dining venues, an art studio and theater room and an indoor heated pool and spa.

To ensure a safe opening, the community has implemented safety features that include restricting access into the community to one main entrance, temperature screenings and contact tracing using Accushield.

Shaw Construction and Lantz-Boggio Architects worked on the project, and Cappella Living Solution is the community’s manager.

Thrive Opens Community, Plans Renovations at Another in Georgia

Thrive Senior Living has opened one community, and made progress on renovations at another in Savannah, Georgia.

The company in September opened Thrive on Skidaway, a senior living community on Skidaway Island in Savannah. The community has the capacity to house 146 residents across independent living, assisted living and memory care, with access to amenities such as a fitness center, yoga area and “stretch lab,” billiards room, casino and a courtyard with dedicated areas for pickleball and bocce ball.

Nearby, the company is also making progress on renovations at another community, The Social at Savannah. The community, previously known as Savannah Commons, will next year debut refreshed independent living, assisted living and small-house units for residents.

The work will cover new decor and color schemes, landscaping, fencing and roofing, an enhanced bar, bistro and laundry facility. Other renovations include a new greeting area, lobby and library, refreshed hallways, an updated fitness room and the installation of a dog park, pond fountain and renovated courtyard.

Oakmont Opens California Community

Oakmont Senior Living has opened Oakmont of East Sacramento, a senior living community located in East Sacramento, California.

The community has 142 apartment homes along with amenities including a 36,000-square-foot parking garage; a wine cave; multiple dining rooms and two movie theaters, with one enhanced for memory care residents. The community also employs the use of Rendever, a virtual reality device designed for older adults.

Community Near Boston Unveils Expansion

Brookhaven at Lexington, a senior living community in Lexington, Massachusetts, has wrapped up an expansion project.

The expansion includes the construction of a new building with 49 new luxury independent living apartments. Specifically, the work added a new four-story wing to an existing building, with amenities including a new pool, an expanded and updated fitness center and a performance center with a lobby open to the public.

Architecture and design firm DiMella Shaffer handled the project’s design. The firm has worked with Brookhaven since 2003.

Work Finished for Blake Community in South Carolina

Workers with Frampton Construction have wrapped up work on The Blake at Hollingsworth Park, a 101-unit community in the Hollingsworth Park area of a master-planned in Greenville, South Carolina.

Amenities include a movie theater, salon, dining room, activity room, physical therapy clinic, and two enclosed courtyards.

Cardinal Ventures developed the community, with Young, Wier + Boerner Architecture handling design and Hoyt + Berenyi acting as civil engineer for the project.

LIV Development, Frontier Open South Carolina Community

LIV Development and Frontier Management have announced the grand opening of a new senior living community in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The independent living community, Portside at Grande Dunes, spans 11 acres and comes with amenities including a complimentary happy hour, heated pool, golf simulator, salon and multiple restaurants.

Ryan Cos., Cadence Open Arizona Community

A joint-venture team including Ryan Companies US, Cadence Living and a controlled affiliate of investment firm Starwood Capital Group have announced the opening of Acoya Scottsdale at Troon in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The community has 135 independent and assisted living units, with amenities such as a music room, salon and spa, theater and fitness room, multiple dining venues, library, game room and golf simulator.

Residents are officially slated to start moving in on Nov. 2. Thoma-Holec Design handled the community’s interior design.

Affordable Community Opens in California

Eden Housing, the City of Alameda and Alameda Point Partners are welcoming residents at Corsair Flats, an affordable community for older adults in in Alameda, California.

The 60-unit community has amenities including a computer lab and bike storage. KTGY Architecture + Planning is the project’s architect and designer.
