Harmony Senior Services Names New CFO
Gloria Holland is the new CFO at Harmony Senior Services.
Holland has 16 years of experience in the senior living industry, including 16 years spent with Capital Senior Living (NYSE: CSU), where she worked as vice president of planning. In that role, she looked after financial planning, analysis and reporting, cash flow management, debt and lease transactions, treasury management, budgeting, insurance and risk management programs.
She also helped Capital grow through mergers and acquisitions, going from 41 communities to 129 during her tenure.
Spring Hills Promotes Ortiz to COO
Spring Hills, a senior housing and care provider with 28 facilities in seven states, has promoted Elena Ortiz to the role of COO.
In her new role, Ortiz will support the company as it builds clinical programs integrated in its residential communities. She previously worked as the company’s senior vice president of operations, and first joined the company after its founding in 2001.
Hilton CFO, President Joins Omega Board
Omega Healthcare Investors (NYSE: OHI) has appointed Kevin Jacobs to its board of directors.
Jacobs has worked as CFO for Hilton Worldwide Holdings since 2013, and added the title of president of global development earlier this year. He first joined the hospitality company in 2008.
Omega also appointed Neal Ballew as senior vice president and chief accounting officer. In that role, he will oversee the accounting and financial reporting functions of the company. He previously spent a decade working in the real estate and hospitality audit practice at Ernst & Young.
Sequoia Living Appoints New CFO
Sequoia Living has named Charlie Shoemake as its new CFO.
Before joining Sequoia, Shoemake worked as CFO for companies including a specialty finance legal funding firm, a national event-staffing firm, a privately held receivables management company. He also has worked as senior vice president and CFO for the corporate banking division of PNC Financial Services.
He has more than 35 years of accounting and finance expertise overall.
The Springs Living Promotes Marcks to Sales Director
The Springs Living has promoted Candice Marcks to director of sales.
In her new role, Marcks is tasked with working with the company’s sales representatives at its 18 senior living communities in Oregon and Montana, including by giving them strategies and tools to use.
Marcks was most recently the director of community relations at The Springs at Lake Oswego in Oregon. She has more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry, and first began her career with The Springs Living in 2010 as community relations director of The Springs at Tanasbourne in Hillsboro, Oregon.
Blake Management Group Names Area Director of Operations
Blake Management Group (BMG) promoted Morgan Walter to work as area director of operations in the state of Mississippi.
In the new role, Walter will supervise and oversee operations across all four Blake communities in the state. She previously worked as executive director at The Blake at Oxford, and will keep the title and responsibilities as area director of operations.
Walter has about a decade of experience in the health care space.
LifeSpire Names VPs of Clinical Services, Talent Management
LifeSpire of Virginia has promoted Paula Bolton to the role of vice president of clinical services, and named Deb Ledbetter as vice president of talent management.
Bolton has worked as LifeSpire’s corporate director of clinical services since May 2019. She first joined LifeSpire community The Culpeper in 1997.
As vice president of talent management, Ledbetter is tasked with overseeing workforce development, human resources management and best practices, organizational effectiveness and performance measurement. She previously worked with McKesson as senior human resources organizational change management business partner.
Presbyterian Promotes Bowley to VP, Resource Development
Presbyterian Senior Living (PSL) has promoted Maggie Bowley to the role of vice president of resource development.
Bowley previously worked for the organization as senior director of resource development. She has worked with PSL for nine years, and has more than 30 years of not-for-profit fundraising experience overall.
Cadence Welcomes Senior VP of Acquisitions and Underwriting
Cadence Living has named Tony Hong as its senior vice president of acquisitions and underwriting.
In the new role, Hong will oversee business development, underwriting, strategic partnerships and benchmarking for Cadence’s portfolio of senior living communities that run from the West Coast along the South to the Mid-Atlantic.
Before joining Cadence, Hong worked with Clearwater Living and Senior Resource Group.
Oakmont Announces New VPs of Operations, Sales and Marketing
Oakmont Senior Living has promoted Mark Maclaine to the role of regional vice president of operations, and also announced Allison Singler as regional vice president of sales and marketing.
The duo will help oversee the company’s central California region. Singler has more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry, and Maclaine has worked for Oakmont since the beginning of 2019 as executive director. Before joining Oakmont, Maclaine worked for a decade as a general contractor in the construction industry.
Ohio Community Welcomes Executive Director
Life Enriching Communities has named Lisa Zimmers as executive director of its Twin Lakes community in Montgomery, Ohio.
Zimmers first joined Twin Lakes nearly five years ago as director of health services. She then worked as administrator of Twin Lakes since the beginning of 2019. Zimmers has more than 20 years experience in clinical leadership, 16 of which were spent in the senior living industry.
Cypress Cove Promotes Franklin to ED of Florida Community
Mary Franklin, is the new executive director of HealthPark, a life plan community in Fort Myers, Florida.
Franklin formerly worked as the community’s director of resident services from 2015 through 2019, then became associate executive director earlier this year in January.
Florida Life Plan Community Welcomes Site Lead Physician
Dr. David Linz is now the site lead physician at Moorings Park’s Center for Healthy Living. Moorings Park is a life plan community in Naples, Florida.
Dr. Linz currently works as chief medical informatics officer for NCH Healthcare Systems.
Life Care Services Names Director at Washington Community
Life Care Services last month appointed Diane Mortenson to the role of director of community life services at Timber Ridge at Talus in Issaquah, Washing.
In her new role, Mortenson will manage life enrichment activities for residents, including programming, special events and transportation services. She previously served the City of Mercer Island in Washington.
Executive Chef Returns to Senior Star Community in Cincinnati
Chef Robert Giesman has returned to The Kenwood by Senior Star in Cincinnati to reprise his role as executive chef and food and beverage director.
In his new role, Giesman will manage revamping and revitalizing the community’s food and beverage program. Giesman, who worked in that capacity in 2014, has spent the past several years as executive chef and food service director at One Lincoln Park in Kettering, Ohio.
