Immanuel Plans Addition to Nebraska Community
Senior living provider Immanuel is planning a large expansion project at Pacific Springs Village, a community in Omaha, Nebraska.
The renovations are planned to connect the community’s assisted living neighborhood to its independent living neighborhood while adding memory care services. The expansion will also include a new fitness center and wellness studio, a restaurant and lounge with a golf simulator, outdoor areas and walking paths, and a chapel with a stained glass window donated by residents.
If all goes according to plan, it will open in the fall of 2021.
Groundbreaking Scheduled for RLC Community in South Carolina
Resort Lifestyle Communities (RLC) is close to breaking ground on a new senior living community in Indian Land, South Carolina.
The company on Oct. 1 will mark the groundbreaking of Greenway Square, a $30 million, 180,000 square-foot community with one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments for residents. Amenities include an in-house bank, pharmacy, gift shop, and salon that are open to the public.

Cadence, Flournoy Start Work on Joint-Venture Project Near D.C.
Cadence Living and Flournoy Development Group have broken ground on Cadence Olney, a 107-apartment senior living community near Washington, D.C. in Olney, Maryland.
Situated on a forested 37-acre plot of land, the community will have a three-story main building for independent living and assisted living, with a two-story memory care building with indoor and outdoor amenities.
Gardner Capital Starts Work on Texas Project
Gardner Capital has begun work on Gala at Fate, a new senior living community in Fate, Texas, that is part of a public-private partnership.
As planned, the community will have a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with amenities such as a resort-style pool and clubhouse with a fitness center and club room.
If all goes according to plan, the community will open in early 2022. Treymore Construction is the general contractor for Gala at Fate. CREA and Citibank are financial partners for the project, and Citibank is providing both construction and permanent financing for it.
55-Plus Project Under Construction in Massachusetts
Elite Home Builders has broken ground on Highland Ridge, a 55-plus condo community in Berlin, Massachusetts.
The 66-unit development will have duplex-style residences that come in ranch-style or two-story designs. The condos will come with open floor plans, two-car garages, first-floor master suite and laundry facilities, a guest bedroom and bathroom, and an option to add a finished basement.
Erickson Living Community Marks Construction Progress With ‘Beam Signing’
Maris Grove, a community managed by Erickson Living in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, in late August held a ceremonial “beam-signing” to mark a milestone in the construction of Evergreen Pointe, a new three-story assisted living building.
Evergreen Pointe is planned to have 84 assisted living apartments, with common areas including a shared living room, media room, creative arts studio, family kitchen, dining venue, games lounge, library and fitness area. Next door to Evergreen Pointe, an existing continuing care building, Rose Court, is slated to be renovated, and will include a dedicated memory care neighborhood and new lobby and bistro. The projects are part of a multi-year plan to expand and renovate the community.
Construction on Evergreen Pointe is expected to wrap up in 2021. The project’s designer is SFCS, and the general contractor is Warfel Construction Company.
Affordable Senior Living Project ‘Tops Out’ in Texas
KWA Construction has “topped out” on a second phase of construction at Columbia Renaissance Square, a development in Fort Worth, Texas.
The second phase, developed by Columbia Residential, will include 123 affordable senior living units, and amenities including a community room with a catering kitchen, computer center, fitness center, laundry, and a theater room. Outdoor spaces include pathways and a landscaped gazebo area.

Capitol Seniors Housing Opens Atria Community Near Chicago
Capitol Seniors Housing (CSH) has announced the opening of Atria Highland Park, an assisted living and memory care community in the Chicago suburb of Highland Park.
The three-story, 72,000-square-foot community is slated to have 86 residential apartments, with management services from Atria Senior Living. Amenities include a shared living room, library, theater, art studio, multipurpose room, fitness center, wellness center and multiple dining venues. Capitol Seniors Housing also created a pedestrian crossing extending into nearby Sunset Woods Park, along with extending and improving sidewalks.
Mosely Architects and Studio Six 5 designed the community.
New Thrive Community Gets LEED Certification
The U.S. Green Building Council has given Thrive Senior Living LEED Silver Certification for its Tribute at Black Hill community in Germantown, Maryland.
The community’s design features and construction process included dimensional material to reduce waste; sorting and recycling jobsite waste and using renewable materials; incorporating features such as EV charging stations, solar panels and LED lighting; and installing more efficient HVAC systems with breathable insulation and windows.
Construction on Tribute at Black Hill started in 2018, and the community opened this year in March.
Hunt, Integral Collaborate on Florida Community With ‘Coastal Design’
Hunt Midwest and Integral Senior Living have collaborated on a 75,000 square-foot senior living community in Royal Palm Beach, Florida.
The 100-apartment community sports a coastal design from Pi Architects, with interconnected floor plans, large windows, certain textiles, colors and artwork to convey the theme. Amenities include a tropical-like memory care courtyard with a large fountain and a modern bistro lounge with wine taps.
Watercrest, United Near Opening for Florida Project
The doors are nearly open at Watercrest Sarasota, a 198-unit senior living community in Sarasota, Florida, from Watercrest Senior Living Group and United Properties.
Planned amenities include a fireplace, water wall, multiple dining options, pool, salon and spa, grand balconies and a faux-outdoor streetscape used in the community’s multi-sensory memory care programming.
Walker & Company is finalizing the building’s details with Interior Design Associates. If all goes according to plan, the community should open later this fall.
Watermark Opens Independent Living Building at Florida Community
Watermark Retirement Communities has opened a new independent living building at Watermark at Trinity, a senior living community in Tampa, Florida.
Construction on the $19.3 million, 117-unit independent living building first began in 2018. Amenities include a pool, fitness center, salon and spa, three dining venues.
The new independent living community was designed by Chancey Design Partnership, and constructed by LandSouth Construction.
New Active Adult Apartments Open in Washington
Columbia Hospitality has opened Harbor Heights, a 55-plus residential apartment community located in a seven-story building in downtown Olympia, Washington.
The community comes with access to amenities that include a rooftop patio, an activity room, conference room, coffee bar, craft room, fireplace lounge, fitness room, maritime bar, movie theater and a technology center.
Rates start at $1,500 per month for studios.
