Discovery Names VP of Operations
Discovery Senior Living has named Jeff Floyd as the company’s new vice president of operations.
In his new role, Floyd will oversee operations for the company’s growing community portfolio of 62 communities in 14 states. Floyd’s hiring is aimed at supporting Discovery Senior Living’s continued growth as well as its new “experiential living” philosophy.
Floyd comes from Enlivant, where he worked in a divisional role as senior vice president of operations for a period of about five years.
Becker Named Head of Production at ORIX Real Estate Capital
ORIX Real Estate Capital has named Aaron Becker as head of production for seniors housing and healthcare.
Becker will lead senior housing and healthcare origination for the firm, which expanded with the acquisition of Hunt Real Estate Capital last November. Becker will also lead the company’s East Coast team. ORIX has also expanded the leadership roles of Casey Moore, Doug Harper, and Quintin Harris, with Moore and Harper leading the firm’s West region, and Harris leading the firm’s Midwest region.
Becker previously was a regional manager in the Northeast for Lancaster Pollard, and had served as a banker for nearly a decade.
Springpoint Hires VP of Information Technology, CIO
Springpoint hired Sonny Taragin as its vice president of information technology and chief information officer. Springpoint consists of Springpoint Senior Living and its eight CCRCs as well as 19 affordable housing communities.
In his new role, Taragin is tasked with managing the organization’s technology and focusing on its platforms, operational effectiveness and strategy.
Taragin comes to Springpoint with more than 20 years of information technology leadership experience. He most recently worked as as chief information technology officer with Mid-Atlantic Health Care in Maryland.
Watermark Hires Associate ED for Brooklyn Community
Sahar Ben Edalati has joined the leadership team at Watermark at Brooklyn Heights, a 275-unit senior housing residence slated to open this summer in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.
As associate executive director, Edalati will look after the community’s financial and operational performance as well as manage the community’s compliance to regulations. Before joining Watermark Retirement Communities, he was executive director at Sunrise Senior Living communities in Los Angeles and in Beverly Hills.
The Watermark at Brooklyn Heights is owned by a partnership of Kayne Anderson, Watermark Retirement Communities, The Freshwater Group and and the development partner, minority owner and construction owner’s representative, Tishman Speyer.
Pennrose Adds VP of Operations
Pennrose has hired Christine Lacy as vice president of operations. In her new role, Lacy will help manage the company’s properties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
Lacy has more than 30 years of property and asset management experience. She most recently worked as director of the Inglis Housing Corporation.
Cypress Living Names IT Infrastructure Manager
Cypress Living has appointed David Pflugi as its new IT infrastructure manager.
In his new role, Pflugi will lead infrastructure administration, desktop administration and cyber security for Cypress Living, the parent company to Cypress at Home and the management and support arm for life plan community Cypress Cove.
Pflugi previously headed up technology security efforts at NeoGenomics of Fort Myers, Florida.
HJ Sims Expands Investment Banking Team
HJ Sims added two senior bankers and opened new offices in the Midwest and on the west coast.
Sims hired Lynn Daly to work as executive vice president in its new Chicago office. Before joining the firm, Daly was acting head of senior living investment banking at BB&T Capital Markets. She has also spent time at senior living investment banking for Ziegler, and previously worked as the head of Allied Irish Bank’s Midwest region.
Sims also hired Brady Johnson as senior vice president of its new west coast office in Orange County, California. Johnson previously worked with Hunt Real Estate Capital, and at RED Capital Group before that.
BRIDGE Housing Names Sherman EVP and CFO
Affordable housing nonprofit BRIDGE Housing has appointed Delphine Sherman to the role of executive vice president and CFO.
Sherman previously was the CFO for the Haas School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley.
